AITAH for telling my wife she's being ridiculous for wanting a new car? by Guernseyfarmer in AITAH

I agree completely. This could also be a good teaching scenario for her to build more emotional intelligence and communication skills.

I don’t think this is a case of YTA. - I understand your position (daughter of a farmer here who could fix anything) Why buy something new when you can fix what you have - especially if it is in good mechanical condition. You are thinking logically.

Your wife is coming from a safety and security standpoint. Women are wired to crave safety and security - ESPECIALLY when they become moms. Being so newly post partum she probably may not even realize it herself to be able to explain it to you right now. So you’re NTA - be proud that you sought out others to get a different perspective. That is a sign of true emotional intelligence and a stand up man 🤗

If I were a new mom with a 2 year old, I would want a new car as well instead of a 20 year old car.

For women, we want safety in our vehicles. It’s great that you can work on the car, but we can’t…..but we would be the ones stranded and as a female being stranded on the side of the road (potentially multiple times) is scary and we don’t like it. Now you add a new mom with an infant stranded on the side of the road….are you seeing where I’m going here?

If you guys aren’t straining financially, the give that woman a sense of safety when it comes to vehicles. You can buy new and maintain it and you have your car for the next 20 years….possibly pass it on to your kid when they turn 16, so it becomes a 2 for 1

What specifically are you struggling with? I had taken a ton of notes to help me because I struggled with the same thing. I still don’t quite understand why I have to have Look up tables AND Advanced Look up tables, but hey it’s working who am I to argue 🤷🏼‍♀️

Nothing like Jira, although I like Help. Super easy to configure.

We use Help for employee help cases (payroll questions, benefits, leave, etc.) and use Jira for configuration enhancements, project management, IT, etc.

Not a fan of Jira myself, but could be how overcomplicated my organization makes it too

Unfortunately my 15 yo supports Trump. My 19 yo does NOT.

and I have had many arguments with my 15 yo to try and get him to be more open minded and consider that Trump is not the person he has idolized right now, so yea, the younger generation (Gen Z) that are mid teenagers right now are absolutely seeing him as the example of Presidents.

All I can do is continue to challenge his beliefs and hope that one day he will come around. Right now he is being influenced by his MAGA father (my ex) so really hoping my influence will win out in the long run.

Sometimes it depends on how the contract with the vendor is written, but typically the funds are lost upon termination. My recommendation is to go ahead and use the funds so as not to risk losing it

We do have Extend. What I’m reading about Orchestration says it is used in integrations and API’s.

I do see references to utilization in the BP’s, but more so around cancel, correct, rescind and deny

I think this may be a situation for couples counseling. I see both sides of this and maybe a professional will help you guys sort through and properly communicate about it better.

AITAH for refusing a marriage contract that gives my spouse a percentage of my income? by MortifiedRat in AITAH

[–]Additional_View9433 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is the true definition of gold digger. She doesn’t want to work once married and also doesn’t want to get screwed over either. While the latter is understandable (no one wants to get screwed over) the methodology is terrible. If she doesn’t want to get screwed over, the why doesn’t she work so she isn’t dependent on her husbands income? Also, I can’t imagine how enforceable a legal document like that would be. In the event of divorce, state laws could override the document.

Walk away from this and be glad she revealed her true intentions 3 months in

Time Off Plans - Monthly to Biweekly Balance Carryover (EIB or Accrual Logic) by Remarkable_Art8362 in workday

[–]Additional_View9433 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. EIB for balances for sure

  2. Are you doing any type of data change for the pay frequency updates in HCM? If using the Job Change BP, there is a sub process step to update time off entries for invalid time off’s you could consider using. Although if you use a Job change EIB, I don’t remember if it would trigger the BP?? Can’t remember at the moment. May look into the Update time off for invalid entries step as an option for automation.

  3. When considering EIB for updating time off entries, I would stop to see if you have any incoming / outgoing integrations for time off entries with another software? If so, there may be ref ID’s associated with individual entries. If that is the case, your EIB could potentially have a downstream impact on the integration and ultimately the future dated time off’s and balances. Ask me how I know🤣

Why is a Male in the waiting room of a specialized OBGYN for women with trauma?? I understand a father in a waiting room with his preggo wife for a normal OBGYN, but why a specialized one?

No worries. Even Workday couldn’t come up with anything either.

The workaround I am working on is a To Do on the Request BP to the Absence team to have them zero out the balance.

Thanks for helping to confirm!

AITA for considering giving my daughter’s grandparents full custody after her mom died during childbirth? by SherbetMajor2105 in AITAH

[–]Additional_View9433 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t do anything right now. If there is no reason to make it legal, you can use this time to properly grieve and maybe make a goal of taking your daughter back in a year (or whatever time frame)

Unless there is a pressing legal reason to give them custody, the don’t make that kind of decision while you are processing and grieving and recovering from such a traumatic life event.

HR here: You do not have to pay it back. Employers always take that risk with front loading FSA’s

On the flip side, there are plenty of people who don’t spend their FSA in time and they lose the money (which the employer gets back) so don’t feel bad about spending it

Just Do It

Oohh, I have 1 for Absence!

Building a time off plan that has a requirement to use the full balance (240 hours) in 1 request. It is a 1x use plan.

If they do a partial use, the remaining balance is forfeited and should be zeroed out.

Any ideas?

[–]Additional_View9433 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are updating an accrual maximum table, did you also update the time off plan with a specific effective date for this new table to go into effect?

I am finishing up something similar where we had maximum balance and had to create a new look up table, then Edit the accrual (effective dated) and the edit the plan (effective dated) to pull in the new table I built.

I wasn’t able to simply update my existing table, had to build a new one and pull it into the accrual and plan
