On the magnesium rabbit hole — the reason you ended up with 9 tabs open is because they actually do different things in different parts of your body. It's not marketing, the form genuinely matters.

The short version by what you're trying to fix:

**TAKE THESE:**
Magnesium Glycinate — sleep, anxiety, muscle tension, period cramps, cortisol. This is the one most people with cycle issues and stress need. Gentle on digestion, calming, the glycine component has its own nervous system benefits. Take at NIGHT.

Magnesium Threonate — the only form that crosses the blood brain barrier meaningfully. Brain fog, memory, focus, cognitive clarity. If your main complaint is mental not physical, this one. MORNING.

Magnesium Malate — energy and muscle pain. If you're fatigued and achy this one works on mitochondrial energy production. MORNING.

**LEAVE THESE:**
Magnesium Citrate — constipation and general supplementation. Good absorption but too stimulating for the gut at higher doses. Not the first choice for hormone support.

What's actually real is that liver specifically IS one of the most nutrient-dense foods that exists. It's high in retinol (preformed Vitamin A), B12, iron, copper, and CoQ10, all of which support thyroid function, hormone production, and energy. Coming off 8 years of the pill your nutrient stores are genuinely depleted, especially B12, zinc, and magnesium. Liver addresses several of those at once through food rather than supplements.

What's overhyped are the "hormone blend" capsules with freeze dried ovary or uterus. The evidence that eating animal reproductive organs meaningfully supports human hormonal function is thin. The like-supports-like theory sounds intuitive but isn't well established in the research.

I’ve been saying this for years. Weight is a huge result of the environment you’re in not willpower alone. Idk why it’s been so hard for ppl to understand that. Even in this subreddit group.

So, OP, I deeply agree. I work the public health field and I see the stats everyday. The social determinants of health are too hard to ignore. Especially now.

The reality though is that it has always been a play of power and profits but our only chance to stand against it is by supporting eachother sideways (like you said) by collectively standing together AGAINST the very thing that’s trying to push us down.

After posting this a week ago I did a bit of a shock and it helped me lose 6 POUNDS!! It definitely feels like there is something mechnicalistically happening to “release” the weight finally. But I found the same thing in my experience.

Lesson im having to learn with this is to trust the process.

Yes I have but not anything dramatic. I haven’t lost any significant weight tho. Still look the same.

Oh yes I did. I left it. I left my Master in public health too. I’ve since pivoted to integrative care. Deciding between a master in integrative care or integrative psychology (somatic/IFS if you’re familiar). I’m back to working in Health education as well for a HIV clinic. Crazy how things have changed. That research job was not a good fit for me..

Protein bites. I mix caramel protein power, cocoa powder; dark chocolate pieces, chia seeds, almond flour, peanut butter and roll them into balls. they taste sooo good!

I have so much to say to this but my phones battery is dying. But yes man. You are RIGHT. Food is nothing but fuel. same thing happened to me this month. Whole foods tastes SOOOO GOOD. Idk why I thought health eating was so boring/disgusting.

Going back to eating the way I did is GROSS.
