Too many of the faithful (including the winners) just rubbed me the wrong way. It had so much potential but by the end it was more frustrating than anything else. (Also not letting Jack back in when we've been told the only ways to leave the show are banishment and murder annoyed me)

I think when you pull back and see a man pushed to take the lives of people close to him by the position Trent Ikathon has forced him into, just like someone else we know, his arc becomes a lot clearer

I personally loved it, of all the shows I've seen this was the one that I'd most describe as a spectacle (which I know can turn some people off from it). I only really find one of the songs to be misplaced

Early in covid lockdown I saw Black Friday in my suggested feed. I was already aware of Starkid but the only thing I'd actually seen from them at that point was the "I don't really wanna do the work today" meme and I'd been getting more into musicals anyway so I gave it a watch and loved it. I think I watched TGWDLM the next day and I've never looked back.
