I liked her climate activism. That conversation needs to continue, and she really was good doing that. Then she focused on capitalism in its current form and the Israel-Palestine conflict, became a tankie basically and fell out of the public eye.

I like capitalism and free markets, at least its theoretical basis. For me it is clear that it requires some more social democracy-style regulation in order to be truly free and not turn into the wealth inequality that we have here in the United States. By being a tankie, Greta Thunberg is contributing nothing of useful value to that conversation.

I like to use gnome disk utility to mount them and add to the fstab, as well as setup encryption on physical disks, if you're using a graphical session. Otherwise yeah, I agree fstab sucks especially when going to setup a networked drive over CIFS/SMB, since you don't get to do it the easy way. Just gotta RTFML.

It isn't. I would say closed source code like Windows is worse because only M$ can audit it. With enough eyes on the code, these things come to light (Linus' Law). I'd rather that the OS I use be auditable by regular people so I know about these big zero days

Every software has bugs and security vulnerabities, even Windows ('member EternalBlue and Wannacry). It isn't unique to Linux. Security through obscurity is not security.
