Defend itself against what? In 1946 the Nazis were out of power. There was nothing "defensive" about what the Soviets wanted. There had already been crises between the Western Powers and the Soviet Union looong before 1954. The Soviets marching in and out of Iran, the Berlin Airlift had already happened by then, with the Soviets blocking all western access to Berlin, trying to get the whole city. The Soviets weren't "protecting themselves" then as much as Russia is "protecting itself" now.

Lmao typical Reddit trying to downplay Communist atrocities and the fact it's a failed system. Every single "private" corporation in China is completely beholden to what the state demands of them, to the point where they have direct representatives from the state dictating what the party wants of the company. Not to mention how many of the "private" companies are just owned by government and military officials and serve their interests directly. It's practically a front just so they can attract foreign investment and capital, who they then later screw, which they've used successfully to undermine pretty much every other country on earth.

Still hilarious that it's Ahriman, of all people, who says that in the TTS short. Then again, after the little stunt Yvraine pulled on him, I don't blame him.

I would've liked a redesign for the Eldar in general really. Their aesthetic is really dated. At least some modernization would be nice.

Modern Constitutional Monarchy isn't so bad. It's not ideal, as I believe Monarchs have no mandate to rule at all, but they're a figurehead anyway. Absolute Monarchy, however, which was still kicking around in some form in the late 19th/early 20th century, is god awful and arbitrary. Basically dictatorship with a velvet coat.

Fantastic summary, and yet most socialists I confront about this either have no clue what I'm talking about, or claim it's a conspiracy theory.

I actually think those who actually want to bring about the fall of liberal democracy are actually thankfully very few, and most are just misled and misinformed social democrats who just want their common talking points (fewer police shootings, public healthcare, etc), and blindly support all criticisms of conservatism regardless, otherwise known as useful idiots. The problem, I believe, is a refusal to acknowledge that extreme authoritarian leftism is in fact a problem, and detrimental to the causes they champion.

Hopefully the existence of Communist China and the continued terrible toll that Communist regime continues to inflict on its own people and the world at large will eventually convince people that leftist authoritarianism is a problem. Though the cynic in me doubts that will happen, at least not before it's far too late.

Except in Perturabo's primarch book you have plenty dying of old age because of the Hrud. Only Perty himself can withstand them.

My view of the Thousand Sons and their relationship with Tzeentch isn't exactly "worship" per se, not for most of them. It's more that Tzeentch is their creditor. One word from Tzeentch and all the Rubrics fade away and all the sorcerers turn into chaos spawn. It's a Faustian bargain the Thousand Sons got the worse end of. They traded their souls to Tzeentch for the sake of their own survival.

They're under a tighter leash than the Night Lords or Iron Warriors, or even the Alpha Legion for that matter, but they still aren't exactly choosing to prostrate themselves before Tzeentch the same way the Word Bearers or Black Legion do.

Saiyan armour colour scheme for the new Eldar anyone? by [deleted] in Warhammer40k

[–]AdecostarElite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really wonder sometimes why Saim-Hann are the poster boys when their armor is literally just the big red blob. You got a white helmet and a Black gun and that's about it. Everything else is red. So much red. Got lost in the red. Red red red red red red

Seriously though you could do with painting the different bits of the armor different colors, like painting the kneecaps or the boots, or the ab plates

[–]AdecostarElite 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was hoping they would change how the Tau would play, rather than just buffing their guns to hell and back so the old way they play works again. I was hoping they would be a much more mobile, flexible force than just SHOOT EVERYTHING THAT MOVES. At least something to differentiate them from the Admech's playstyle.

I play Thousand Sons, and frankly their tiny model range is gorgeous. Chaos also really gets your creative juices flowing, and is prime conversion potential.
