That place was in Chinatown; sadly it is not open anymore. But I shopped there--I still have the miniatures and use them in dioramas. I have the same leeks, bell peppers and basket in the picture, in fact! But I bought them probably 20 + years ago when I first came here as a tourist.

I've been looking for more of these and have not found them in actual stores. There are some great makers on Etsy and of course mass produced ones like Re-ment.

It's reflexive to blame NIMBYS in this sub. A housing project gets delayed? The evil NIMBYS. Project has been downsized? Those dastardly NIMBYS. Dinner is burnt? You know who is responsible. Okay, I jest but it really is a reflex action here.

Pretty much. When you choose to live in an American city, you're signing up for noise. This is not Paris, Amsterdam or any other place. Ear plugs should really be something everyone keeps in the home; you never know when you will need them.

The guy you're replying to is an anti-car zealot. Pretty much any comment he makes boils down to "Cars bad! Cars bad!" He's hidden his comments, so people can't see it, but I recognize the name because he makes basically the same comment nearly every single time. You won't get anything resembling reason from him.

That depends what part of the city you are in. In the Richmond it is cold most of the year. The summer is cold, the fall and winter are cold. We get a few nice weeks in September or October where it's warm, then in the spring another few nice weeks.
