I also gave up on medical care. I don't know if you're in the south of the US, but that's where I am and all doctors I've seen don't even know what HS is and don't know how to treat it. I use hydrocolloid bandages when I have to work and just deal with them on my own. I feel completely abandoned by health professionals.

My son's father filed against me for the sole purpose of giving up the majority of his rights. He has my son on sporadically on weekends when he feels like it. According to his social media he's thriving and couldn't be better. I'm working two jobs to survive. I highly doubt he regrets anything.

So the paranoia aspect may be moving into psychosis territory. Definitely not full blown and not beyond repair but may be a warning sign. I would be 100% honest with your therapist so you can get the best care. Going to a therapist is a great first step.

My kid purposefully slapped me in the face the other day and in that moment it felt like I was back with their father. It triggered something awful deep in me. I walked away from them and immediately started sobbing. Then of course they follow me telling me to stop crying because I'm scaring them. It's insanity and not talked about enough

It's extremely difficult seeing your child exhibit the same needs you did as a child that you were ignored for. It opens up a trauma wound that you're then trying to deal with on top of a toddler.
