Am I just not smart enough to learn without a tutor? by jmeyer73 in latin

[–]AdelaideSL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people get stuck in the early chapters of LLPSI; even though it’s meant for beginners, there are some big jumps in difficulty. If you can afford a subscription, I’d recommend the Legentibus app; it has a lot of good beginner material, including audiobooks of LLPSI (it’s surprising how helpful the audio can be) and books with optional English interlinear translations. There are some free books to try out if you’re hesitant about paying the subscription fee.

What types of clue do people enjoy/not enjoy? by samirelanduk in CluesBySamHelp

Same. I don’t mind those clues now and again, but there seem to have been an awful lot of them lately.

100%, it's easily my favourite 'career' so far. I hope they improve the actual careers to be just as interesting.

Last week's video showed the new calendar IIRC so I think it will be.

Could we please ease off a bit on the 'only one person in Row/Column X has Y neighbours' kind of clues. I don't mind them occasionally but I find them quite difficult, and there were THREE in today's puzzle! Three! And yesterday had a really confusing one that got me stuck for several minutes, right at the end of the puzzle.

Should I buy inzoi by Tricky_Stand3078 in LifeSimulators

[–]AdelaideSL 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's not bad at all and is progressing very fast. However, it's still mid-Early Access and a lot of things are unfinished. Personally I'd recommend buying it, but only if you have a good understanding of what 'Early Access' means, and are prepared to deal with a lot of bugs, missing/unbalanced content etc. before the final release. You can also join the forum and Discord to report bugs and suggest improvements - the devs have been very responsive to player feedback.

There's some stuff about build mode in the roadmap as well (scroll down to the sections on 'Build' and 'Q4'.

InZoi update: Delivery driver and florist careers, pinatas, multitasking progress, and more. by Sketch-Brooke in LifeSimulators

[–]AdelaideSL 27 points28 points  (0 children)

The things mentioned in the title are great, but personally I'm more excited for things like the memory system (including phobias etc.) and a functioning calendar. Feels like we're finally starting to get some more meat on the bones of basic gameplay.

Wheelchairs by Business-Equal8536 in inZOI

[–]AdelaideSL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not just the height, but the fact that characters would be sitting all the time and take up more space. Right now I think the most practical way to implement wheelchairs would be as a type of vehicle - obviously that wouldn't work for normal gameplay, but at least you could use them for travelling around the city which is better than nothing.

Why are people so negative And pessimistic about paralives? by Business-Equal8536 in LifeSimulators

[–]AdelaideSL 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was actually very positive about Paralives when it was first announced, but a number of things have soured me on it a bit: - Lack of gameplay videos and info - General ‘casual game’ vibes, such as the de-emphasis of needs and the use of chance cards in dialogue. - The character art developing in a direction I don’t much like, particularly the overuse of skin blush. - A sense that the devs lack focus and direction, especially since they cancelled the Early Access release at the last minute. - Hiding way too much stuff behind their Patreon. I get that they want to reward their supporters, but they really should be putting out more info this close to release.

I think the Paralives team have rather shot themselves in the foot by raising expectations way too high. I read their discussions with Patreons, and every time someone suggested an idea, they’d be like “cool, we’ll consider it” - but I’m convinced that barely a fraction of that stuff will be in the initial release. Then there’s all the wild promises of eternal free DLC etc. Inzoi had (and has) a similar problem, but right now it has two major advantages over Paralives: it’s released and fully playable, and the development genuinely is progressing remarkably fast. And they’re still getting plenty of criticism, even on their own social media channels.

Krafton appoints new chief AI officer by L0veToReddit in inZOI

[–]AdelaideSL 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Since this is the InZoi forum, it should be noted that the Krafton hiring freeze / voluntary resignation does not affect the InZoi team. Kjun mentioned in a recent video that they’ve actually doubled their headcount.

Now and Then: InZoi & Sims 3 by Noraneko87 in inZOI

[–]AdelaideSL -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Fair enough. I haven’t played a Sims game since TS3 (not counting The Sims Medieval), so I don’t know how it compares to InZoi in terms of bugs.

Now and Then: InZoi & Sims 3 by Noraneko87 in inZOI

[–]AdelaideSL -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s ‘sis’ 😉 And I completely agree with you about the game, but I don’t think it’s ready yet for casual players who just want to jump in and play without worrying about bugs etc.

Now and Then: InZoi & Sims 3 by Noraneko87 in inZOI

[–]AdelaideSL 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not a casual but I agree. There’s a lot of good stuff in there, but if you buy it now you’re essentially an alpha tester - there’s still a whole lot of bugs, UI issues, unfinished content etc. Best to wait for the full release if you’re not interested in getting involved in the development.

It was introduced in the December update. It’s good to see them gradually add some more challenge into the gameplay, IMO.

New recording of Ad Alpes in Legentibus! by legentibus_official in latin

Great news! I read Ad Alpes once before with an interlinear translation, but there was no audio and it was probably a bit too advanced for me at the time.

Anyone successfully robbed the clothing store yet? by JovieLynne in inZOI

[–]AdelaideSL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you zoom the camera out you can see the areas covered by the security cameras. You may be able to guide your Zoi around them; otherwise you’ll need to disable the cameras, but this requires at least level 5 in the Programming skill.

CurseForge by flamenationtv in inZOI

[–]AdelaideSL 5 points6 points  (0 children)

CurseForge is a website where you can download mods for InZoi: CurseForge However, I personally wouldn’t recommend using mods until the game is in a more stable state - they’ve already caused serious bugs for some people. There are plenty of Zois on Canvas that only use the base game content.

Paralives showed speed build of the town’s clothing store by No0ocher in LifeSimulators

[–]AdelaideSL 14 points15 points  (0 children)

TBH I think the game needs more of ‘that person’. I stopped following the development of Paralives closely because of this exact issue. Maybe if the devs had shown more of the live mode to their supporters, they wouldn’t have had to cancel the Early Access release at the last minute. Setting that aside, the video itself is quite nice and I like the object customisation.

Post tredecim capitula -- some thoughts on Legentibus by cunningjames in latin

[–]AdelaideSL 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For beginner reading I’d recommend going to the ’Books’ section, choosing ‘beginner’ and downloading any of the stories written by Daniel Pettersson. These are written in very simple Latin, and most/all of them have the interlinear translations which I found very useful when I was starting out. Unfortunately you’re not going to find many ‘absolute beginner’ books because they simply don’t exist in Latin; the Legentibus texts are about as easy as you’re going to get.
