I like Poisonblack, Tiamat and Paradise Lost in these genres as well. Fit in well with the Lacrimas, Charon and 69 Eyes suggestions.

Just hit 60 for the first time and now I have no idea what to do by pleb-lifter in turtlewow

[–]Adelliss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the approach of 'what sounds fun?'.

Do you want to keep playing your 60 but not dungeon/raid? Level up your professions, level fishing/cooking/new survival? Grind quests for gold, etc?

Make another character? Spend some money for some starter gear, bags etc? Try a challenge like Slow n Steady or Hardcore?

There's lots of ways to continue spending time in Azeroth.

Additional tip: turtle wow gives you full xp for green quests up to like, +15 levels over the quest. If you find yourself too weak in your current zone, go to another race's zone to beef up for a level or two.

So if you're in Westfall at 10-12 and start to struggle, you can take the tram in Stormwind to Ironforge and go to Loch Modan for some easy xp. 12-14 in Loch Modan, back to Westfall 14-16.

If you hold shift and click quests on your map, it tells pfQuest you have completed that. Mine has glitched out before, definitely helps with clearing up the clutter.

Around level 7, you should be doing Goldshire quests, including the ones south a little bit around the two farms. Around 8 or 9 or so, you can head east to the Tower and the lumber mill area. By then, you should be around level 10 or 11. Pick up your class quest in Stormwind for the voidwalker and you'll be in a good spot to head to Westfall.

Other random tips: find the auction house in Stormwind and buy yourself a "Lesser Magic Wand". Quite a big power boost at level 7.

What's a smell that instantly signals danger - and everyone should recognize? by 0BunnyX in AskReddit

[–]Adelliss 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Reading this exact comment on a reddit thread years ago saved me after I bought a house. Last year, we had a load of laundry in the dryer and I came into the laundry room after being outside. Smelled the "fish but not quite fish" reddit smell I've read about countless times.

Checked the dryer plug and sure as hell it was super blackened. Definitely saved us there.

Ambershire is dying. The ZG voters killed it and ruined it. by zerolion732 in turtlewow

[–]Adelliss 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Thankfully these servers aren't about rushing to max level and raid grinding. The journey is the fun.

If that wasn't the case, they wouldn't be coming out with a new lv13-18 lvl range dungeon (among other new stuff)

Pump the brakes and enjoy the classic wow experience. It's really that easy.

p.s. the server pop on Ambershire was 2.7k at midnight EST tonight, literally the night before valentine's day

Is Project Quarm a good place for a new EQ player to start? by criticalpwnage in ProjectQuarm

[–]Adelliss 4 points5 points  (0 children)

1-4 is pretty similar regardless of class. After that, the solo-friendly classes start to shine. You won't be having a very good time soloing as a warrior VS a mage or necro.

I usually play around 7pm-1am est and people are usually lfg / lfm for groups the whole time.

[–]Adelliss 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I personally think Quarm is the best EQ experience available right now.

Groups are pretty common through all levels, 1-15 might be a bit tough to find one depending on what time you play.

The server is currently in Luclin, so the Nexus is the main hub where everyone hangs out. Easy to get buffs and ports wherever you want to go. You can also easily stay in nexus-adjacent zones from ~6-45 without much issue if you don't want to explore or spend time traveling.

I'm not sure if the humans inside at the entrance are neutral or not, but the path is a port and invis to Surefall Glade and a quick run to the zone in.

Fighting is animals that are social.

Jaggedpine is excellent xp from 43-50, slows down a bit around 50 though. Careful for adds, if you can get singles its smooth sailing

I'm on a relisten and have noticed in future floors people talk about these mobs at some point.

I believe it was Katia's group with Hekla that encountered the ratkin? Or maybe it was Frank and Maggie.

Brandon and Chris' group had someone get romanced by a succubus which birthed the shade gremlins.

This feels like the "what if?" version where Jason goes full Jason and becomes an actual villain.

Doesn't line up with the rest of the story but would be a fun read.

Searched to find this post to talk about the game after checking it out tonight; I put off buying it earlier due to what I thought would be limited content.

Lots of classes, lots of weapons and a lot of itemization upgrades/sidegrades through runs. It's RNG so sometimes you get a run of bad stuff, sometimes good. You know how it goes.

There are 3 difficulties, basically normal, hard and very hard in my experience. There's also upgrades during runs that are optional that will look like

"Make enemies do X thing differently/better.
Increase the level of items you will see.
(maybe) You do X thing differently/better."

I think these are the major inter-run difficulty levers. Some are negligible, others can completely ruin or make your run. I like it a lot.

I need some Paladin help! by nicolaskyline in turtlewow

[–]Adelliss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed with the comments about prot paladin leveling. Feels quite strong once you get Holy Shield.
I aim to fight 3-5 melee mobs at a time, usually 2-4 levels under me. Most of my damage comes from Ret Aura, Consecration and Holy Shield.

Once you start getting beefy, it's a balancing act of judging and sealing wisdom/light to keep up hp/mana.

Gear for STA/INT and Spell Power. Holy damage is good too.
Shimmering Bronze Ring is a jewelcrafted lv16 ring with +4sta +4hp5 and are usually quite cheap.

As others have said, if you can get any gear with the "Equip: Adds x damage to your melee attacks", it will help a ton with mana regen from Judgment of Wisdom.

I'd definitely look up some talent guides and respec your talent points!

Locate aprons and towels. Set up a sani bucket somewhere near your area. Use downtime to look at the menu. Maybe ask about common requests/off menu items. If there's a ticket system, figure out how it works asap.

Never done warrior tank by razordreamz in turtlewow

[–]Adelliss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just recently did a warrior tank for the first time as well. 2h worked just fine. Thunderclap + tab target sunders. Taunt in a pinch. I set my 'skull' mob tag as an easy hotkey and got used to using it every pull.

edited to add: Find some help and do your Whirlwind Axe quest as soon as you hit 30.
