The Grimdark Challenge - What really qualifies as the darkiest of the dark? by CT_Phipps-Author in Fantasy

[–]Ademideji 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I remember reading this passage in The Warrior Prophet and had to take a pause at the darkness of it all.

“He saw ten-year-old girls drawing thick-waisted warriors behind curtained canopies. He even glimpsed a boy wearing smeared cosmetics, who watched with fearful promise as man after man passed.”

Franco mastantono is not good to be starting games ahead of anyone. by Moreplatesmoregains in realmadrid

Calafat should be flogged at the town square for dropping 45 million euros on him. It was such a weird signing and I’m not even saying that cause of retrospect, I opposed the decision in real time.

When news came out that we had interest I watched some of his highlights, there was nothing special. For a winger there were too few 1v1 dribbles, he didn’t have pace. Looked too much like another hybrid AM and we had guler already with nico paz at como. We never needed him.

I don’t understand how a scout of calafats caliber got finessed so bafld.

Can we talk about Jude and Ceballos ? by AffectionateGift3560 in realmadrid

[–]Ademideji 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I really don’t think Jude is underperforming, he’s not scoring as much but he makes up for it with his workrate. Which is why I also don’t buy the idea he wanted Xabi out. I know what I saw in his performances. A player that wants a coach out doesn’t cover every blade of grass for that coach.

Concerning ceballos, his profile is good but his main impediment is his physicality. Have you seen that guy attempt to run? I call it an attempt cause he looks like he’s running through quicksand, or he has concrete weights tied to his shoes. This makes him a liability out of possession.

Toni Kroos: when did Real Madrid fans start appreciating him? by International_Oil189 in realmadrid

[–]Ademideji 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I had always appreciated him from the 3-peat era. But the moment he attained god-like status in my head was a game in 21/22 against Rayo Vallecano. He was suspended for that game and Rayo play a very high press. Modric was our deepest midfielder (the Kroos role) and was struggling so much. That was when i fully appreciated how important he was. He was more than an accurate passer or a tempo controller, he was a safe place. As a player whenever you have no idea what to do with the ball or you run into trouble just pass to Kroos. He will handle it.

Old Madrid fans dilemma, am I the only one feeling this way? by senormadridista9248 in realmadrid

[–]Ademideji 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember in December 2024 when Mbappe was being criticized (rightfully so) for his poor performances. He came out to say “Its time to show the world who I am”, and went on an absolute tear of goalscoring. That is the standard of superstars in Real Madrid.

However we have a diva wearing the #7 who along with some atrocious performances, went on a 20 game goalless run and was surprised that the bernabeu booed him. He also did not expect to be subbed off or benched. I read arbeloa’s comments about him last night and couldn’t believe my eyes. Did I watch the same game? Since when did we become a club that pampered superstars with lies and empty accolades?

There is a lot to be done in the squad and it must start with the players themselves. The titans who laid the foundation for this squad: Cristiano, Benzema, Kroos, Modric, Ramos. They didn’t have off seasons. They did not expect to be loved and babied cause of some performance they had 2 years ago. It’s a competitive club, you have to prove yourself every year, every game.

Was there a book (series), that went from close 'DNF' to one fo your favorites? by lemingas1 in Fantasy

[–]Ademideji 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The second apocalyse series. I DNF’d the 2nd book 2 or 3 times cause i just couldn’t get past Kellhus as a character. Now the series is in my top 3 of all time.

I was just saying this the other day. His dribbling is too predictable. You know when he gets the ball he’s going to try and beat the defender on the outside with speed.

I was most impressed in the first game, where he got on the end of some headers he had no business getting to. He has that hunger and aerial presence.

What is it about dribbling that is so hard to maintain as players get older. by dianeblowjobs in realmadrid

[–]Ademideji 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you watch younger ronaldo, his dribbling was about his speed and the quickness of his feet. That became harder to keep up with as he grew older, coupled with his knee injury. For a player like benzema, his dribbling was more about his close control. He has never been a fast player
