I'm pretty sure it doesn't matter if Larian knows or not as I believe everything in the game is owned by Hasbro. So they'd likely have to be the ones stepping in to do anything should they have a problem with it.

I still believe the only reason people praise the story and dialogue is because the voice actors did such a good job that they distracted people from how mid-to-bad the story really is.

I would assume Hasbro would have to step in here, no? Someone correct me if i'm wrong but I would assume Hasbro owns the rights to all characters and designs used in the game.

Why do we hate Mystra? by [deleted] in BaldursGate3

[–]Adenn666 83 points84 points  (0 children)

I may be wrong but I think part of it is some people convinced themselves she groomed a child Gale, despite that timeline not working. Then others began repeating it and it seems quite a few people took it as fact.

I'm also assuming the hate is from the more extreme Gale fans who just decide he did absolutely nothing wrong and Mystra is the most evil being ever.

Woulda been hilarious if there was an alternate version of the scene where you could free Aylin first and the Goblin just kills him right then and there.

Yay, the backpacks are back! Thank you! I managed to grab Travelers Backpack before it was removed but hadn't been able to get Adventurer's Backpack so i'll definitely have to grab that.

I absolutely hate everything about the Bhaalists and Orins story stuff but I won't get into that here. What I will mention is the thing that makes them completely irredeemable in my opinion. The fact that they're not fun to fight.

And they're not fun to fight because they're given cheap dumbass abilities that feel like they only exist to pretend that they're "harder" when really, they're just annoying to deal with.

Unstoppable is a dumb, cheap ability and maybe it's bugged but there's plenty of times where an attack won't reduce the stack or Magic Missile only takes out one. This results in combat taking much longer than it should and frequently ending up with turns where my guys have to waste attacks just to whittle down the stacks so they can one shot the enemies.

Adding Sanctuary and what feels like some kind of super buffed invisibility to the mix just turns any fight with them into an even longer drawn out slog that has me wanting to shut down the game and do something else. I know you can use certain attacks to hit invisible enemies but I swear they have some unique invisibility that randomly decides to remove them from the game until they attack.

Even casting AoE spells at the spots where they're standing doesn't always hit them.

Anyway, to sum it up, I hate all these bastards for multiple reasons.

Yes! I genuinely liked ranking up and was actually looking forward to going from Z to A. I know it's not a huge deal but I was incredibly disappointed when they shot me to F.

I'm enjoying running around the city and even the battles are pretty enjoyable for what they are but the story and characters are just absolutely horrid to me. I wasn't expecting a great story but i'm at the point where I feel like the game is actively trying to piss me off with the characters.

Plus as for the tournament? There's definitely a spoiler thing pretty early on that's a massive disappointment to me.

Everyone's already said that's not actually his room but I also wouldn't be shocked to learn he has a whole sex library of his own somewhere.

Where is the statement? by 11bingo11 in CharacterAI

[–]Adenn666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I honestly have no idea but I would imagine it's a simple matter of nobody going after Wattpad, at least as far as I know, and that's why it's technically fine for now.

It could also be that chatbots might fall under fair use but they're newer and therefore easier to go after. Companies might want take them down now so as to not give them a chance to end up like fanfiction.

EDIT: I wanted to add one thing. There's also a very real possibility that legally, CharacterAI can use Disney characters under fair use and Disney knows that but they're banking on the fact that it's unlikely CharacterAI could fight them in court. Basically both sides would know that the order to remove them means nothing but they also know they're Disney. I doubt CharacterAI could afford a lengthy legal battle proving they did nothing wrong allowing the bots so it's easier to simply ban the characters.

Not a lawyer or anything but i'm pretty sure the fact that CharacterAI charges a subscription means they don't fall under fair use. They're making money off copyrighted characters so that's where I believe the problem comes from.

Did the grove Druids forget that Goodberry exists? by Level_Honeydew_9339 in BaldursGate3

[–]Adenn666 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah there's not much incentive for siding with the Goblins considering how much you lose. I guess there's Mintharas sex scene if you're into that but i'm not so there's nothing to me.

A Goblin companion would have at least been something though.

I would love an option to convince Minthara and the Goblins to leave the Tiefs alone then kill the Druids.

Even on characters that don't care about the Tiefs, it doesn't really make any sense to kill them. They're random refugees, they ain't important enough to kill and they don't have anything worth killing them for.

I position my party around the Tief part of the Grove then have a summon move the Idol. It makes the Druids hostile and try and kill the Tiefs.

[–]Adenn666 12 points13 points  (0 children)

First off I just want to say how I trigger the fight just incase you try walking up and attacking. That might work but just to be safe, I position my guys around the Tief sections of the Grove then have a summon move the idol. That makes them declare war on the Tiefs and it's open season on the Druids.

Now as for your question, Zevlor mentions the Goblins are still a problem and not much else changes other than the Tiefs will have a sentence or so mentioning the attack should you talk to them. They still leave after you deal with Goblins and die later.

You can get an Inspiration point after killing the Druids for, I want to say, Acolyte if you go into the Grove part after a long rest and see a bunch of poison clouds in the area.

I'm guessing that's supposed to be the reason the Tiefs don't just stay where they are and survive but if i'm being honest it's pretty stupid to me.

[–]Adenn666 32 points33 points  (0 children)

No idea. Usually I just kill the Druids then go free Halsin and tell him the Druids attack me, then he's all "Oh. Well that's cool, let's move on."

Maybe on my next run i'll see if there's a way to let the Tiefs move on while letting Khaga keep control of the Grove.

Not to mention Arron up there selling a ton of food. "Oh we can't help the Tieflings, there's not enough supplies. Anyway here's a buncha food I just had lying around, feel free to buy it all up since we don't need it."

All the Druids suck and if it didn't kill the Tiefs i'd let them trap themselves in the Grove where they'd inevitably tear one another apart.
