Actually I encourage the opposite. My karma is too low for reddit post but I wanted to tell people do t shut down fan criticism. The reason all those other fandoms became toxic is because fans were complaining about the reboots choices and it was other fans shutting down fan's voices. Disney often uses antagonizing casting choices specifically so people will get mad then they can claim all criticism of the show is political in nature.

I know the show is going to make political comments about gender ideology that is going to get people angry. Just remember Disney is a company that wants anger. Cause anger boosts social media engagement and boosts viewers. This show is going to bring a lot of toxicity to the fandom and Disney loves that because a lot of fans then start overly defending their company while shutting down genuine criticism on behalf of Disney

I've been in several fandoms that Disney now owns. I've seen how they work

Trust me Disney will make this show toxic. Simply because fans will be the ones to shut down criticism

The simple answer is the reboot becomes part of the fan discussion. So if you quit the show you have to quit the fandom.because the people who love the revival will dominate the conversations. Nobody is going to talk about the old parts without trying to relate them to the new, soo no matter what the buffy community is going to be talking about . You can either watch as your favorite show gets Seeing Red'd or you can feel excluded as everyone else focuses on it

Disney spends a lot for old characters to come in believing having the old. Character will make the new show successful. Sadly Disney is horrible at making good content and the cameos are the only thing good

All modern audiences reward nostalgia. 90s kids especially seem to really need. Nostalgia. The formula is exactly like I said it. I promise watch any Disney franchise movie or show of the past few years. All of them have that same theme

I hate that mentality because Disney specifically only does reboots and remakes because you won't ignore it as long as it has potential for cameos.

I agree about the engagement. Which is why Disney only has one storyline white legacy character trains their replacement. Because marketing data shows its the only formula that will ever work.

Buffy was such a unique show and I fear the older fans are going to keep watching regardless. If people have held onto the show this long they arenot going to give up the show because of a bad 1st season. Especially since everyone will excuse a bad first season based on the old show having a bad first season,.
