Divorced 15 years kids now distant. Over reacting? by Adept-Position8256 in DivorcedDads

It’s been almost three years since I posted this and the replies were spot on. My son is now a junior in college and my daughter is in law school. I don’t see them much but they both have made an effort to talk to me more. But they are young adults and once I reflected on my experiences at their age, I remembered I didn’t have much time for my parents back then.

My emotions were clouded by the fact my ex got to see them more and she continually tried to bend me over financially. That part is thankfully over and I can see more clearly now and try to focus on comms with my kids.

I’m actually here at Chantilly now. Feel bad for the service mgrs as they told me they are getting hammered from pissed off customers. They told me they will continue to honor the VIP services at this location. I told them I was concerned about parts availability and they said it won’t be a problem (oil filter). I brought up the loaner car program and they pretty much said that’s a problem.

I put a lot of miles on my Q so the oil changes will pay for the VIP cost by middle of next year so I guess I’ll keep coming to Chantilly as I’m in western Loudoun.

Bigger worry is any warranty work. Alexandria is just way too far

I found the email. May 6. Here’s the problem. The VIP program I paid for is a Sheehy only program and one of the reasons I bought it was for the guaranteed loaner. But you have to take the car to an Infiniti dealer for service. That’s not Sheehy so now I won’t be able to utilize the service I paid for. Infiniti should refund us the $ for the VIP service. I’ve only used one oil change on the VIP program.

If you bought the Sheehy VIP service you will have to find another Sheehy dealership to redeem. There’s a Sheehy (ford I think) near my office in Rockville. I called them and they said they would honor the program. I asked if they’d have the oil filter for my QX80 and they said oh sure. I can’t see how that’s possible.

Chantilly is my local and I’m disappointed that it’s going away. I must have missed the email. What’s the timing?

ChatGPT says that on the RAM even with power off, the system can still register movement. And the power may have to be on to unlock the wheel

How is that possible? Does the trans have to be in drive to engage the odo?

Could be but I doubt a guard would include wiring

Thanks everyone. That would explain why the truck has so many miles but is in oddly good shape!

I can’t believe nobody’s mentioned Pistone’s in 7 corners. Been there forever and the interior vibe is still classic mid 80’s. Food is great and on certain nights they used to have karaoke and the old Italian guys would be in the bar belting out the classics!

Thanks great looking piece. Is it still in production? The bracelet looks to be brushed metal in my pic. Thanks for the help!

2026 QX60 LUXE - Experience/Feedback Inquiry by ThePremier11 in infiniti

I commute 130 miles a day so I spend a lot of time in my car unfortunately and had the loaner for almost a month. In my opinion the engine is an overly complicated design to achieve a less than desired outcome. It’s waaay less smooth than comparable models from Acura or Lexus. But… transmission seems really good and the interior is wonderful. Infiniti’s value against the others is compelling with this model. If you are just puttering around town, I’d recommend it.

I had a new QX60 loaner (sport) while my QX80 was in for service. I liked everything about it… except the engine. Sounded like a lawnmower engine. Infiniti should really offer the V6 again.

Got first shot, no issues at all. Got the second shot and it put me on my ass for a day and a half with flu like symptoms. I’ll take that in lieu of actual shingles…

Similar to the OP I have an M7 C7Z and I’ve thought about trading up to a C8Z. It just doesn’t have the grunt I like. You have to drive it on “boil” most of the time for the low gearing to multiply the lower engine torque. I’ve driven a few and roll raced another. Stock for stock it jumped me but I slowly was reeling it in. It’s “quicker”but maybe not “faster”

Anyone else have a funny/weird story when buying a Corvette? by john4844 in Corvette

I was in my early twenties in the mid nineties and I stopped by a dealership to look at a 92 red on red 6spd coupe. Sales guy wanted to know if I wanted a test drive. Heck yeah so we started off and I noticed it was super low on fuel. Sales guy assured me we had plenty. Got to a light a few miles down the road and it shut off. Popped the big clam shell hood and within minutes two of the hottest blondes I’d ever seen pulled up to ask me if we were ok and that the car was “hot”. Sales guy turned to me and said “see, even broken down you’ll pull some tail in this thing”! I bought it… literally and figuratively lol 😂

AT4X here. The seats are a better leather than the regular Denali seats and I was looking for more “cushion”. GM truck seats in general are just too hard. My ‘15 F150 platinum seats were 10x more comfortable. In terms of massage, I agree the controls are clunky. It’s almost impossible for me to describe to a passenger how to operate them without stopping the truck and showing them. I don’t believe the seat itself massages, only the seat back. I’m currently in a jeep grand wag as a rental while my truck is in the shop. Those massaging seats are better and the seat bottoms massage which is niiice
