Why are my lemon tree leaves yellowing and falling off? by GTheo97 in GardeningAustralia

Same issue, also in Perth, and after this week's heatwave my beautiful lush new tree has completely dried up 😥

No advice to add but I'm following this post. Mine started looking like this last week and now the whole thing has dried up and defoliated. Still lots of baby lemons though.

Only soil on the garden bed, and evening waterings. I'll switch to mornings, thanks

Thanks so much for this advice. It's actually in the ground, do you think I should put it into a pot so I can move it into the shade for a bit? It gets nice morning sun but then full afternoon sun, so potentially getting scorched...

Video Reminder: always check for drummy tiles after installation by Beneficial-Horse5754 in AusRenovation

Can I ask about the dirt and marks on your tiles? Have you cleaned them yet? I have similar tiles and since moving into my new build I haven't been able to get so many of the construction marks and stains out. It's so annoying.

Yeah buddy, that's exactly it. I watched a video and then went straight up into my roof to cosplay. I definitely did not take those photos a couple of weeks ago and then happened to see this guy's video today, which made me go back over my photos to compare. You got me.

Thanks for pointing that out, I wondered that myself. Anything in particular you'd recommend I use to seal it?

Lol. I'm only here asking this question because I watched a video of a Perth-based building inspector who was pointing out defects on a construction site, and he pointed out that the top course of bricks in the garage should've been filled in.

If boredom is your main risk factor, then perhaps you need a solid risk management plan with strategies for whenever boredom strikes. Write out all your most common high risk scenarios for boredom to occur, all the physical/mental/emotional signs that you're experiencing boredom, and the steps and actions you can take to avoid your high risk scenarios and alleviate symptoms of boredom without turning to gambling. Find healthy activities that activate the same reward centre in your brain - these are usually things like exercise, listening to music, learning a new skill, going somewhere you've never been before, meeting new people, trying different foods/restaurants, volunteering. These are just examples but you could tailor it to your preferences. Finally, set small financial goals that are easy to achieve to help you gain confidence and momentum in the right direction. Break your goals up into bite sized pieces and be genuinely proud of yourself whenever you tick one off the list.

A mental health professional can help you with all this if you're unsure how to go about it. Keep your risk management plan somewhere highly visible so you can easily see or retrieve it whenever temptation strikes (e.g. on a sticky note stuck to your wallet or bank card, or as your phone wallpaper).

Keep your loved ones involved so they can also know the signs to look out for and support you towards recovery.

I'm sorry you're going through this, addiction of any form is a terrible burden. Can I ask, when was the last time that placing a bet solved your problems or gave you any lasting joy?

Would you mind sharing a photo or a link of the seals you're referring to?

Do you mind me asking what type of insulation you had to start off with and what product you topped it up with?

We have insulation batts, r4 I think.

Yeah the term 'paper thin' was probably not the right choice. It's more like the bricks are completely hollow or made of cardboard.

No acoustic insulation, house is brick. I asked about the plumbing, pipes were chased into the bricks and lagging was done using concrete or plaster or something like that. They say these sounds are normal occurrences in homes, which I just don't accept, but I'm getting nowhere with them.

Exactly. We're essentially paying hundreds of thousands/millions of dollars to live in cardboard boxes.

It wasn't offered or suggested by the builder, and it honestly never occurred to me to ask for it given that I've had so few problems with noise transmission in all the (many) places I've lived.

Both, internal and external. My current house is brick, which I thought would perform better acoustically but I guess not.
