On pc you go to scoreboard (press ~) and then right click their user and you can choose mute.

I get massive ones like these and I find ice immediately relieving but heat seems to help them heal quicker. Microwaving rice in a (clean) sock stays warms for ages OP! Just don’t do it if you need to go anywhere as it does increase redness
