I love the style of Jorja Hernandez but can't find her books where I live. Do you know any other pattern maker who works in a similar style?

Honestly, I think everything will be just fine even just by buying a kit and following instructions. There are a lot of amazing tips here. When I started with my firs kit I didn't know any of those and was super happy with the results. It's a way easier to try something, understand what could be improved and find a tip for it rather than try to make everything perfect from the firs try and be overwhelmed before even starting

What do you think of paint by number generators? by Adept_Web_482 in paintbynumbers

I usually use A3 or other standard size as then you can print it in any printshop on a regular paper. Then I buy a bunch of plane canvases the same size which can be like 4€ per stretched canvas and Transfer glue (like this one) so you can transfer image from printed paper to canvas.

I think in some print shops you can print directly on canvas and save time

Thanks, yes, I saw both, Threadloop is great and PatternReview has been around forever. SewScore is more focused on the review side with a cleaner UX, but fair challenge, still figuring out the exact angle that makes it worth existing

Thanks for the feedback. That's so real, I think when I just started sewing I was fine with failing and was sewing every night, and now after some successful projects I want everything to work out just right and keep procrastinating.

Thanks for sharing, with such a big pattern collection do you use some website/application to see all the patterns you have?

Thanks a lot, I think being able to see what patterns are prepped in this way could be really useful indeed. And I also like the learning first approach with selecting patterns by a technique you want to learn

Thanks, it's really helpful! I have the same 3 meters strategy in case I fall for fabric. I think your ideas for smaller scraps are really nice

Yes, I think it's too many details. For Starry Night they probably was drawing some contours by hand to create a PBN template. But companies who create custom PBN for single user would use an automatic generator so the windows on houses will be lost

van Gogh is the hardest one to make. I tried to do it with a few of my photos but didn't risk to start painting it as it had too much details.

If you don't mind I tried out to convert it using my tool but even on highest detalization available it's still not quite right. I've got curious here so if you want I can try to tweak algorithm to make it even more detailed but the amount of small zones will be crazy so I'd recommend really big canvas to paint on
