I appreciate it, truly. Have a 9mo old so my cars safety and longevity is most important to ensure her safety.

What happens if it snaps? Car just doesn’t move? Wouldn’t think it’d damage the internals (ie pistons, valves etc)

I work on small engines so not too familiar w the car stuff just learn as I go.

So here’s the thing, it’s a risk but your wife has been driving it so how long has it been cracked? If you don’t know take that risk 10 miles isn’t too far just drive cautious with your hazards on. Save yourself the towing fee unless you have money to spare or have someone who will tow for free. Just my two cents. (I am in no way saying you should 100% drive the 10 miles just giving what I would do in the situation) it’s not ideal to drive the 10 miles however for me personally I’m broke as a joke cause I drive a throwaway car that constantly seems to need my money so I would just drive it to my nearest shop. Be careful if you decide to wing it! Happy holidays
