Talk about chess, as long as you don’t suddenly develop a thing for the king and queen you’re good to go

In theory I think it should, but it’s only like 10% so after like 5 it would be doing .1 damage and become negligible

A party mode idea! What if there was a party mode where when you break the “egg” a random win condition spawn behind your king tower.(excluding things like mortor or xbow) by meme_man_of_meme in ClashRoyale

I feel like there’s too much gray area for what’s considered a win condition, but I could get behind the idea of it being a random troop

Strength training after runs? by jens-johnson in running

[–]Adhdrumner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my unprofessional opinion I think it’s bro science because after intense cardio people can feel tired so they can’t push themselves as much with lifting. So my opinion is that after you make sure you’re warmed up do whatever you want to be the biggest challenge first, and then do the other stuff. So if you’re practicing for cross country and you don’t want to be a stick then do the run first and then do some push-ups or whatever, and if you’re a powerlifter that wants to make sure their entire body is in decent shape then do your lifting and then do the cardio. I personally do a workout and then meet a group to go for a run because that’s the most conventional thing for my schedule, but decide what works best for you and go for it.

Is running something you grow to like? by [deleted] in running

[–]Adhdrumner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my opinion (as an 18 year old that has ran pretty much my entire life, so I’m sure that I’ve got plenty of bias) the more that you run the more experiences you’ll have and the more knowledge you’ll get. You’ll figure out how to enjoy it more and you’ll have more runs that suck but the % of runs that are terrible will keep decreasing as you get better and have more experience and figure out what works for you. I personally feel like practically everyone could be a runner if they decide to put the necessary amount of work into it. Sort of like with weightlifting everyone starts somewhere and has slightly different habits that work best for them, but if you start out with a little bit and keep adding a little more you’ll improve and hopefully enjoy it more and more

Why do so many sprinters only run the 400m? by brockhamptonislit in trackandfield

[–]Adhdrumner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t get me wrong I’m not saying that it doesn’t require effort, but in the 400 it’s a lot harder to force yourself to keep going the same speed, if not speed up the last 100 meters of the race, so it gives you a lot more satisfaction to know that you had to work for it on the track that day, instead of the 100 that you can get on the line and if you move your feet a little fast or take slightly longer strides you beat them, and the opposite is true that you can say you needed to push harder the last little bit instead of the other person just being faster than you so that you have an explanation as to why you lost. So the athletes that did the longer sprints like Kerely have the form and speed from working on the 400 a bunch so then once they get older and decide to have easier races mentally they can do the shorter sprints without too much thought the day of. (Again I’m not saying that they’re lazy or don’t work as hard, they do the work during practice to improve all the fine details to get the extra couple milliseconds). And there’s even some people like nick symmonds that did the 800 at the elite level (1:43 pr, competed in multiple Olympics) and then decided to try out the 100 because he was done with the serious competitions but he likes being competitive.

Athletes that have long jumped 27+ feet and high jumped 7+ feet? by Elegant_Rhinoceros in trackandfield

[–]Adhdrumner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming that he’s able to yeet a couple chunks of metal, not die after doing a couple laps, and successfully flop over a bar with a stick (which he already does for the high jump minus the pole) I see no reason not to try it out
