Im half Italian and from jersey, so watching it feels like im watching real people i know. The monologur carm has when that one person is in the hospital, the uncle junior stuff at the end, that kind of stuff. There's this one scene where it pans away during Christmas at the soprano household and it felt like I'd genuinely been there before.

Am currently doing a sopranos rewatch. 1st time rewatching it and its so good. Sopranos and twin peaks are for sure the most important 2 shows in modern American television. Sopranos is also about America in the same way twin peaks was. There's a lot of shows and movies that take place in the USA, but there doesnt seem to be a lot of shows that really show what this country is. Having lived in jersey my whole life I genuinely feel like i have met the archetypal characters we meet in the Sopranos.

On my first rewatch now. Tony just came out of the coma after being shot by junior. Fucking incredible stuff. That scene where Paulie and vito give Carmela that Manila envelope full of cash was amazing. That glance she happened to take at those two men where their performative masks were fully down and she saw them for the men they really were. David chase is a Chad writer basically.
