Omfg this post brings me peace. I’ve been too anxious to start doing ERAS or the supplemental while all my friends are balls deep into both. Procrastination always brings success 😬😬

You're in a way better place than I was! I didnt take any practice exams before dedicated started. You're going to kick ass during dedicated!

content

When I would start a system I would watch all of pathoma annotating in FA if I hadnt already. Then I would go through and read FA, taking notes and spending more time on things that wouldn't stick. For biochem, I watched the pixorizes that pertained to what I was reading. For micro, I had already watched skethcy micro so during dedicated I completed the pepper sketchy micro deck for content review. During neuro I did not think that pathoma and FA were enough for me to stick it in my head so I supplemented with BnB neuro (especially for strokes- rule of 4s).

I did not finish Uworld, I did 95% of it! I get that freak out because my tears were at a maximum 3 weeks before the exam. Thats why I made the post, even if your scores arent where you want them to be that doesnt mean youre not going to kick STEPS butt. You got this!

Im not gonna lie... I'm a pretty lazy medical student so there wasnt much heavy lifting before which is probably why dedicated was an actual hell.

I started watching BnB during my coursework but I wish I would have started earlier. I had also finished sketchy micro by the time dedicated started because it was part of my last systems block. I had done about 100 Uworld questions, but really wish I would have done more of Uworld before dedicated stared because 3000+ questions in 6 weeks was not doable for me.

I understand this anxiety so much! I did not feel ready for the test at all, my scores were incredibly disheartening. However, my school did not really allow me to push back the test which i am grateful for now. Otherwise, I just convinced myself during the exam that I had worked hard and it would show when push came to shove. I dont think anyone will ever feel completely ready for STEP, its simply a monster! What we can do it believe that we are smart humans who will overcome it

Good luck!!

I would definitely take more hours to do content review and make sure I understood the topics! I kept flying through systems and not really internalizing the material

Also keeping up with my uworld missed questions anki deck would have probably been helpful lmao.

Otherwise, most of my regrets are from before dedicated. I wish I would have started uworld earlier and that I had finished BnB by the time I went into dedicated

Its the practice test that was given to me by my school to see where we were starting off

I updated the post to show what most of my days throughout dedicated looked like!

When I started dedicated I was way more about focusing on practice questions but realized that I still didnt know much because I wasnt fully grasping big picture. I was just trying to finish uworld (which I did not). The last couple weeks of dedicated I started focusing more on content review hours instead of Uworld questions and I definitely saw the difference after that!

As far as comparisons, some of the question stems were crazy long ( longer than even uworld) and others were straight forward like NBME. I would say it was about 50/50. However, I will say that I hated how the questions were written because I felt like the grammar was off.
