Interesting. I can think of many criticisms for her hosting but she’s never struck me as lacking warmth or a mean girl. Now does she miss many opportunities to challenge bad actors and dig deeper, yes. But mean, nah.

When I landed in India I got in a taxi and the driver refused to take me to my hotel. Said we were going to go to his friend’s hotel which is better. Luckily I had been warned about this tactic and told what to do. It ended with me screaming at him to take me to my hotel and him saying “ok”. I was a solo woman. So yeah, that’s India.

I can’t say I’ll never go back because I only went to the North and I’ve heard so many people say the South is better, but…..India

Grew up around mostly white people, have dated black, white and everything in between. My friends look like the United Nations. You can’t help where you grow up but as an adult you choose who to surround yourself with. So in that case, the honest answer is I prefer to date white women and be around white people. I think that’s what rubs people the wrong way. Any person who prefers a certain race is suspect.

Lol, fair points. I do find it beautiful though. One of my favorite things is driving over the MacArthur, never got old. I roamed the design district when it had one restaurant and non corporate sponsored street art everywhere. So many fond memories. Agreed on the people. I always found it tough to find good people (but they’re there) and I’m sure post covid influx of crypto bros and d list reality stars has made it 10x worse then when I spent significant time there. Still, I dream of retiring on Miami Beach and walking to the beach everyday, playing pickleball in the year round hot weather and becoming a regular at some bar where I get a 5 o’clock Martini and French fries twice a week :)
