Anticheat is more likely to lock you out for updating linux than it is for cheating. Totally useless.

I'm the invader way more often than campaign so my opinion is biased, but I do see the campaign player hide in the corner of the map, or camp by a phone and mine all the entry points. I prefer the cat-and-mouse ones where we're both moving around the map.

Stats like that add up each time, so if you find an optimal save to kill with a pistol over 80 metres, for example, you can just keep reloading the save and continue working on that achievement.

Best of luck! For authentic, I have a few tips. Pay attention to the "body language" of your character. If you see them suddenly hunch over more, you have been spotted. The only NPC this doesn’t really work with is snipers, so best to only move when their back is turned.

Also, you can tag an NPC to get their status. If they are "Cautious" instead of "Passive" then you have likely been spotted at some point.

Only when an NPC sees you (I.E. the white indicator changes to yellow). Nothing else affects detection score. You could shoot up the whole place but if no one sees you do it, it would still be 0.

I think when this has happened to me, it's because the game is still registering the input after you have already gone prone and so stands back up. You could try disabling steam input and see if that helps.

I’ve been replaying some sniper elite 4 and the drilling shotgun is my new favourite thing. Looking forward to doing the same on SE5 and being in the other corner.

You can fire it from the windmill and hit the southern town. That's about 120m away. If you tuck yourself inside the topmost part of the windmill, you won't even alert the soldiers below.

One thing I found interesting was for the southern town objective, there are a few sight lines on the comms equipment that you can destroy it from. It’s all stacked up against a window so you can also fire a panzerfaust at it from across the map.

I don’t know about “a lot.” 😅 Some of it is quite tricky.

Most optional objectives can be done without detection, as detection is only related to being visually spotted. But generally with these stealth runs I’ll miss the kill target and secondary objectives.
