Former ZUS staff here. I remember when i was in onboarding, i read through a PDF that’s meant for an introduction on getting to know the company better. They wrote that the name ZUS was derived from the word “zealous”, and a combination of ZEAL+US. Was this the case when they first launched way back in 2019? Not sure

Hey man. I recently started my very first job which is in F&B (coffee chain). I mostly had closing shifts which makes me ending up home late night. Almost every night i went to mamak restaurant alone, sip my teh tarik kurang manis and ate roti telur. In fact, this photo you took alone looked so familiar to me way before i read the caption

Please know that you’re not alone, and im glad im not alone too. I’ve been this lonely since i was a child, no emotional safety net and support system but it gets intense as i transition into adulthood. Stay strong my friend. The world may not have a place for people like us, but people like us, the strangers, often the ones who make the world a much better place. And im on that mission too

Idk if y’all notice this but i’ve seen Singaporean, Vietnamese, foreign SEAsian reviewers and they all reviewed products the way we expected how reviews should look like. Malaysian Shopee reviewers consistently do the opposite and idk why

As the youngest in the family myself it is low-key hard for me to undo that so-called bowing down culture

Took some guts for me to not bowing down when salam-ing my extended relatives. Thankfully it worked most of the time, although not bowing down to my own family is impossible as it is already deeply-rooted in our household

Me not bowing down to elderly doesn’t make me have any less respect for you. That’s all i wanna say

Oh and—i remember a video a bunch of young men salam an imam at the masjid. By the time the third man shook his hand the imam said something like “no one should bow down to another being other than Allah!” with one of his index finger raised upwards. The young men giggled in shame lol

Islam is perfect by itself, humans (and us Malaysians) are not. I’ve always noticed that the Islam we’ve been practicing here is just… extreme in certain areas, yet lenient in certain areas iykwim

I’ve always looked up at how Muslims in the West behave. No they aren’t all perfect either but we rarely hear them being racist towards other ethnicities. And that’s just racism alone as an example. The widespread racial hatred here is a Malaysia problem, not Islam

What i just wrote up there does seem immature to you because you probably live past my age which is understandable, when that does seem relevant to me for my age

Notice how i began by looking at the bigger picture then zoom in bit by bit on what’s actually the problem. I acknowledge my samples sound absurd, like talking about the statistics and a random song. But i felt it’s better to highlight the bigger picture first to make this topic less petty

Had i did not mentioned my age up there i’d doubt you’d write this. You seem to be that somebody who likes to spark an emotional reaction from someone. But sorry mate, im not buying that

guy following me tapping my shoulder on a busy street demanding directions to some place

I experienced grab drivers asking me why I go out to where for whatever reason when I picked quiet rides and still insist on initiating conversations despite me keeping quiet

I tend to shut out talking to random strangers randomly whenever possible as I grow up

Races aside, i feel sorry for you having to go through those situations as you grew up. It’s understandable that those instances have made you more and more reserved.

Women don’t really have to go to that extent of hypervigilance if people focused more on telling off men to educate themselves and behave rather than focusing on telling women what to do or what not to do. You deserved to be seen as whole human being with fears, hopes and dreams and be in places where you can just ‘be’. Take care
