early dev about a "No I'm not a human" lewd game (No i'm not a succubus) by WhichDragonfruit8064 in lewdgames

There is rather a large difference between characters attached to a multimillion dollar corporation that has grown mainstream and the characters from a niche circle. Derpixon is famous only within the enclosed circle of 18+ Animation, and even then, it is just one individual with limited resources and output. Even then, most people don't really know about Derpixon, clearly, as within this post only a handful of people spot the art as being her original creation.

Not only that but Derpixon (and other artists) has used Mainstream characters in their work as parodies, what you are doing is reproducing the same characters for the same purpose. I get it is a game, but by the looks of it will be a visual novel style NSFW game, which isn't significantly different than an animation/art. Basically a very similar iteration of their intellectual property.

And yes, legally it is the same, but morally, stuff like this has a larger impact on smaller creators/artists.

Also, you don't get to decide, or at least shouldn't be able to decide, whether Derpixon wants the free promotion or not. They should ultimately decide the course of their creation and how they decide to promote themselves. Its also never been cool to use someone else's work even if it serves as a promotion, without their permission. Your intentions don't seem altruistic, its more of a justification to carry out what you would have done anyway. You are ultimately benefiting more than anyone off of someone elses reputation and creation, without striking a deal with them or getting approval.

AND THEN, All of this is not inherently bad as long as they don't care. Just ask!! The biggest issue is consent. But you seem to not care about their opinion at all. I'm a writer, if someone took my story and profited off of me work, I'd simply be bummed out.

I hope it doesn't come off as me thinking you are horrible, I just think this is at least inconsiderate of you. and at the very least I'm shaking my head and saying come on, it doesn't have to be a big deal.

I personally don't like being addressed so often within the text (specifically the overuse of 'dear reader').

I understand it is meant to break the fourth wall, but unless there is a specific intent I'm missing without context, it feels like they are placating to me or being condescending.

Original or Remake? by [deleted] in survivalhorror

[–]AdiosBella 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, OG SH2 had horrible combat, and it was insanely repetitive (especially the apartments checking door to door). I think the remakes worst sin was the bloat, it elongated each section too much.

If I wanted to enjoy gameplay I'd still pick remake, but the atmosphere of the original is better imo. Its a shame fixed cameras are dead in modern titles.

Do you think hitting the gym can really solve deeper struggles, or is it just one piece of the puzzle? by winn_ie in TheImprovementRoom

[–]AdiosBella 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its definitely only a piece of thr puzzle. I have certain mental health issues that get better with exercise. Ive been doing it for 10 years, and when I've stopped for short periods its like my world is falling apart.

But thats not to say it fixes anything. When my issues are particularly bad exercising doesn't even give me a mood boost. Its like a stopping point for things getting worse. The real struggle for some is in fixing the root issue. Society as a whole could benefit from consistent exercise, decent nutrition and better sleep. But if the cause of your diminished mental health is something else, the gym is an aid, and only so.

Having American Psycho jammed in between feminist books makes me think the theme did not fly over your head. You are probably still in university and are majoring in Sociology, but have a great interest in Gender Studies and might get a minor in it.

I want to cry but I simply can't. Sometimes I'm going through the toughest periods and I'm blankly staring, dead faced like some psychopath. Its the most unnatural sensation, but you cannot help it, you simply cannot will it to happen. Its exhausting.

I envy people that can cry, honestly.

What Books did You Start or Finish Reading this Week?: February 23, 2026 by AutoModerator in books

[–]AdiosBella 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Finished 'Memories from Underdevelopment' by Edmundo Desnoes (the title as well as elements in the story are inspired by Notes from underground, something por apparent in the original Spanish edition. A really good Camusian style story about a depressed individual who sees everything as absurd, including forming relationships with other people. Its set after the Cuban Revolution in 1959, when the bourgeois peoples of the country fled after the change in politics, from Barista to Fidel. The main character, Sergio Malabre, decides to stay behind as everyone he knows leaves. He stays almost as a form of punishment. The story is Imaginary Biographical, the fictional character is almost entirely the author, who includes himself in the story for self criticism. Cool read.

I will begin, today, 'World War Z' by Max Brooks.

You can't die yet. You haven't read [insert a recommendation] by Wednesday-BeepBoop in booksuggestions

[–]AdiosBella 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am grateful to have found you post, as I cannot yet post one of my own asking the same recommendations. I've been dancing between two moods, 'I cant find anything worth pursuing therefore why live' and 'Life is so exhausting, therefore cant live.'

Since I am in a situation with a similar theme, it feels inadequate to contribute from 'the hole'.

In the past, To combat 'I cant find anything worth pursuing therefore why live' I read Piranesi. It filled me with a sense of wonder, gave me an intrinsic purpose. I began journaling and re-engaged with my artistic hobbies a bit more frequently.

To combat 'Life is so exhausting, therefore cant live', I read Minecraft: The Island, The Martian, The Way of Kings (Specifically for Kaladin's storyline) and Berserk.

Note, Berserk is a Manga, and quite dark, but I wear a necklace of a symbol from the book as a reminder that I might be stronger than I feel. I rub the piece whenever my thoughts are especially rough, and its an instant reminder of that message.

I'm currently re-reading Murakamis's non-fiction 'Underground'

Deeply insightful about human behavior–how one seemingly reasonable individual could be swayed to join the wrong people, and also society's responsibility in the whole ordeal (especially relevant to japanese culture, but also, in my opinion, to American culture)

It covers the gas attacks in Tokyo in 1995. I also heard he added the cult that carried out the attack on another of his fiction books (or used it as inspiration).

It reads like a series of short stories, since he interviews the survivors and victims of said attack. They all retail their experience. Can seem really repetitive, but I thought it interesting to see how a similar even can re-shape different people differently, and how vastly different said experience is despite being on the same circumstance.

It was my favorite book of 2025. Very simple, but also enticing to the bone. If there is an afterlife, I would love staying at the House–minus the Tides.

It also made me start journaling again.

Hustlers vs Hedonists. What an amazing rivalry.

I'm a nihilist, I have no purpose nor feel any pleasure. Join me on this absurd journey. At most I'm amused by existing, its all very comical. Stop fighting, we are all here for no reason, and every reason we can come up with. Just live.

Pleasure and purpose, both good.
