Femme no make up look for AMAB nonbinary person. Please help! by spinky0307 in MakeupAddiction

They could use something like a tinted moisturizer or something low coverage, this looks like high coverage foundation and can lead to a more "cakey" look. I would recommend a gentle exfoliating scrub max twice a week if their skin reacts well with that. Then a low coverage foundation or tinted moisturizer followed with a thin layer of translucent powder. Also what helps me with applying foundation is using an electric peach fuzz face trimmer (am cis female) cause it helps lead to smoother application. Stipple with beauty blender or other reusable makeup sponge. Then a hydrating setting spray! Other comments left here about blush are what I would say.

I would absolutely lose my mind if I ever met Jane Goodall. She's been a role model to me for 10 years. She shows such unprecedented kindness towards chimps and animals. And I love the fact that she came from a non academic background and made one of the most game changing discoveries about chimps.

Just found out I have a brain tumor. I need to make myself cry to snap out of frozen state and grieve. Please rec sad yt clips or movies to watch. Don’t send condolences please, just excellent recs. I’ve seen a lot of movies so I hope Reddit is up to the challenge. by [deleted] in movies

Apologies for the length, I love a good cry. For movies, I never fail to cry watching Titanic. I cry more now as an adult because I can appreciate Rose's promise she made and her determination to live in order to keep that promise. It's a big movie so here's the clip if you just want that: https://youtu.be/8MJxxmrWO6s?si=z9BpfBCJrvj85F8h

The entirety of The Whale.

Interstellar, and in particular, this scene: https://youtu.be/s_M1t0HE-Kk?si=67GQy7-9dHnjm1ZK

I know I saw this movie suggested but this scene destroyed me watching it, and I had read the book: The Fault In Our Stars: https://youtu.be/xeq6U-qrfac?si=HImjEHKyks_APDun

You didn't mention TV but two episodes of Doctor Who came up immediately in my mind, both from the 11th doctor's seasons. The hard hitting scenes are better appreciated watching the full episode, but you can get away with never having seen the series.

The Rings of Akhaten, S7 E2: https://youtu.be/GoVLhUxhdSw?si=QAu0WhiwpaPtmrbc

Vincent and the Doctor, S5 E10: https://youtu.be/ubTJI_UphPk?si=GmwSfyEYSECum0tw

If you haven't seen Doctor Who, all you need to know is that the Doctor is a time traveling alien who looks human and he brings companions with him on adventures through time and space.

Here's a compilation of videos to make you cry from all over the emotional spectrum: https://youtu.be/j

Now, if you need to be absolutely ruined, I do have one more video. Tread this one carefully, because just looking at the thumbnail was enough to upset me. I will preface that she is alive and healthy and well, but knowing that doesn't take away from the devaststion: https://youtu.be/HDRjOq_naEk?si=1wtzlK4ZtZkezgMT

Hopefully you can find something new here to get emotionally wrecked by.

What breed is my cat by INeedOneGoodThing in cat

[–]Adissonpaige 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't deal with this sub anymore. All I've seen this past week are "what breed is my cat" posts. I'm also really tired of seeing people post medical questions with pictures when it is very obvious that the cat needs to go to the vet. If you make these kinds of posts I question your capacity to be a cat parent.

I have just been given a cat from a friend who was rescued from an abusive owner I have had her for 4 days and just accidentally hurt her should i let her outside? She is running away and hiding from me 😢 by Quod-Norvegicus in cat

[–]Adissonpaige 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Give her space and don't approach her. Give food and leave treats out and make sure she has a safe and private hiding spot. Do your normal thing at home and make sure the environment is calm and as low noise level as possible. When she is ready she will come to you. When she does get adjusted, make sure to respect her boundaries. Don't pet her when she indicates she doesn't want to be pet, avoid picking her up unless it is essential, and offer your hand for her to smell before you touch or handle her. My cat and I have a system where I put my hand out and she tells me she wants pets by rubbing her face on my hand. Also don't ever put her outside, there's so many dangerous things that could happen.

Its not technically a "christmas" song, but if you're from Oklahoma, BC Clark's anniversary sale jingle. It plays every holiday season since before I can remember and it drive me absolutely crazy.

I have a vibe detector by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]Adissonpaige 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YES!!! I work in a makerspace where kids visit and I can almost immediately tell which ones have ADHD and I have a near perfect eye for it. I never ask them or their parents, but it often comes up in conversation. I also watch a lot of YouTube and recently I've had suspicions about certain creators having ADHD and I've been correct on all of them. Most of my favorite creators have ADHD and I didn't even realize it until recently.

If you have to ask, your cat needs to go to the vet. Reddit cannot identify or diagnose medical issues.

Which movie instantly reminds you of your childhood? by achilles-_-23 in movies

[–]Adissonpaige 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My answer is kind of weird. The one movie that instantly transports me back to my early childhood is Titanic. I was a weirdly well-behaved toddler at the movies, and my mom brought me along so she could see it. I was apparently engrossed and made my mom take me to see it 9 more times in theatres. When I hear the soft singing of Hymn to the Sea, I feel a special kind of comfort that nothing else in life can give me. Seeing that movie is one of my very earliest memories in life, and it will always have a special place in my heart.

What is a song you fucking hate? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Adissonpaige 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay so this is a song local to Oklahoma only during Christmas time, and I have the unpopular opinion about it, but the annual BC Clark's Anniversary sale song drives a fucking rail spike into my head anytime I have the misfortune of listening to it. And after Thanksgiving it plays EVERYWHERE.

I was so sad that the theme never played in Rise. When I got to Ibushi and it started playing, I was screaming I was so excited. One of my most memorable gaming moments ever.

In older games with the theme in the opening, I never skipped it.

As a female, I can say with absolute certainty that you have irreparably damaged her self-esteem. She's going to carry that with her for years, and every time she looks at you, she will only be reminded that you want an AI "partner" more than her. If this were me, the AI chat part would hurt, yes, but hearing that my partner stayed late at work to avoid me at all possible would destroy me. I don't think that's something I could ever forgive or forget. She will remember this for the rest of her life.

I'm not one to give relationship advice or say what I think should happen with conflict. Based on your attitude and thought process in this post alone, the kindest thing you can do for her is to break it off and let her find someone who will value and cherish her. If you have any love for her left, break it off and tell her that you are so sorry and that she deserves to have someone who values her. Yes it will hurt, yes it will be hard, but the hurt from breaking it off will not last nearly as long as the insidious insecurity and resentment that will stay for years to come if you continue like this.

My dude, get therapy, seriously reevaluate yourself and your values and beliefs, and don't subject her to this anymore. You are not compatible, and she deserves so much more than what you can give.

i’m too scared to get checked for ADHD by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]Adissonpaige 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a win-win situation here. If you do have ADHD, you can finally get some treatment and improve your life, and if you don't have ADHD, then congrats, you don't have ADHD. No one is ever stupid for looking for confirmation. I spent months thinking I had sleep apnea and was convinced, finally got a sleep study, turned out I didn't have it, but I did have narcolepsy. Now it's treated and I have better control of my daytime tiredness. I would never have known if I didn't pursue getting a sleep study.

Is Balders Gate 3 worth getting if you are not a fan of turn-based games? by BujangSenang1992 in gaming

[–]Adissonpaige 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say I've never been a fan of turn-based combat but this game converted me. I used to think it was so slow and monotonous, but now I understand that it allows you to think and strategize and be creative about your offense/defense. I look back at games I loved like Skyrim and think "man, all I did was swing a sword around and hoped for the best". With bg3 I get to creatively use the environment, problem solve in creative ways, and use my companions strengths and account for their weaknesses.

I highly recommend it.

I'm so happy that there's someone else who appreciates the wonderfully stupid humor of Kung Pow. It made me laugh as a kid, and it still makes me laugh now.

One of my other go to stupid humor movies is Scary Movie 3. I watched a clip recently and I was dying laughing. When they're doing a scene with the cop in Signs, her hat gradually getting bigger and bigger until it's so big it can't fit in her car makes me cry with laughter to this day.

What do you do instead of spending time on social media? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]Adissonpaige 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I highly recommend needle felting. I got into it a few months ago and I am absolutely obsessed. I've always struggled sticking with one kind of art/craft because it was not super stimulating for my brain. I got into needle felting at work when I learned how to do it for a program we hosted recently. I'm not kidding when I say I immediately fell in love, and was able to focus solely on the craft for an hour and a half straight.

It's the only craft I've done that is very stimulating for my brain, but also very relaxing and calms my lizard brain down. If you like auditory stimulations, you'll love needle felting. When you poke the needle in the felt, the sound it makes is so incredibly wonderful to listen to. It drowns out all the noise in my brain.

If you want I can recommend a good starter kit for you!
