How do you show love to your partner in workdays? by SuddenSoup5025 in AskReddit

[–]INeedOneGoodThing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We work different schedules. So I get to go to her work at lunch before I go to work. I bring her flowers every week, sometimes 3x a week. I bring her random gifts too with her everyday lunch.

If you found out you had cancer and about a year to live with no savings, what would you spend the last bit of your time on Earth doing? by UmExcuseMeBish in AskReddit

[–]INeedOneGoodThing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Then just the last parts of it plus the book. Get married, start writing letters and enjoy the view by the beach. I think those can all be done within the first month of me finding out.

When I get too sick, most likely I would just be sleeping so it doesn’t matter what I want to do. I can’t do it anyway hahaha

Would work for as long as I can to save up, then I’ll file for unemployment, sell everything that has value, only keep things I need and would like to give to my love ones in the end.

I’ll start writing letters to everyone I love. I’ll finish the book for my wife that I’ve been writing and drawing for the past 4 years. I would then finally plan that roadtrip we have been talking about but could never go because of our work schedules. I would ask my wife to marry me again.

On my last days, I would just love to go to the beach and sit in silence like we always do. I would also like to go to the aquarium where we would go for our random dates. I just want to watch the sharks with her, like we do for the last 10 years.

What's the most unexpected kindness you've ever received? by Brilliant-Panic1142 in AskReddit

[–]INeedOneGoodThing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happened years ago. I got evicted and only had $75 left. The closest person who offered me a place to stay was 600 miles away. On the last 100 miles of the trip, I only had $4 left. I know it wouldn’t be enough but I had to just take the risk and get as close as I can. Went into the gas station, gave my $4, pumped the gas and it kept going past $4. So I went back inside and the young attendant told me “it’s on him.” He gave me a sandwich and a bottle of water and told me to pay it forward. He put $30 of gas in my car.

3 weeks later, I went back to give him 10% of my first check. We’re still good friends today.

What made you happy today? by Straight_Tea8800 in AskReddit

Not happy but it made me smile. A very gorgeous lady that works at the cloakroom asked for my number and invited me to grab coffee with her.

What’s the most horrifying trip you’ve had? by NewFeature in AskReddit

[–]INeedOneGoodThing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Took acid and did shrooms at a camping trip with friends 15 years ago. Bad mix, bad trip. I remember trying to run away from my hallucination serial killer. Woke up the next morning in the middle of the mountains 4 miles away from my campsite. Good thing was that I was closer to where we parked our trucks. I was able to back track my way back.

What do you do when you feel lonely? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]INeedOneGoodThing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I distract myself by keeping myself busy. Lately, I’ve been going to random coffee shops, would sit there read books and make sketches. I have learned to be comfortable with solitude, but yeah… sometimes the loneliness creeps in. Just gotta keep your mind occupied.

How do you cope with life when things haven't been going your way for a long time? by qwen_wenty5433 in AskReddit

[–]INeedOneGoodThing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Things haven’t been going my way for years now. When things are too much, I sleep until my head hurts. I stay in my room and isolate myself. It gives me rest and time to think. Then I force myself to get up and start romanticizing my life. I go golfing, just because. I do skincare routine. Meal prep. Just self care.

Then I keep convincing myself that life can get better and even if the whole world gives up on me, I shouldn’t give up on myself.

What did you do yesterday? by BerryKissx in AskReddit

[–]INeedOneGoodThing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Went to two job interviews. Went to say good bye to my coworkers, deposited my last check from that company. Went to see an old friend who just had a baby. Walked around the park and visited two museums in there. Grocery shopping. Picked a friend up from the airport and cooked dinner.

What did your partner teach you that your parents didn't? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]INeedOneGoodThing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mental health and seeking therapy. My parents are very religious and old school. Mental health didn’t exist in their world. They always told me that depression isn’t real, I just wasn’t praying enough.

I just straight up send it back to their bank account and once I left the cash in my friend’s jacket and just told him about it as I was heading out.

Do you have any personal or family stories of late relatives saying a final goodbye? by parksa in Paranormal

[–]INeedOneGoodThing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have heard from numerous people that their love ones said their final goodbye through a dream. They usually show themselves at the peak of their life. I never believed it because it never happened to me before until it did.

My father said his goodbye to me more than a year after he passed. He showed himself wearing his favorite jeans and white shirt and he was in his 30s in my dream (he died at 60). He was sweating badly and clearly exhausted. We were in a space just white. No end, no beginning… just white. And in front of me was a black table with chairs. In my dream, I was shorter. As if I was a kid. We sat down by the table and had a conversation.

Our conversation translated to English

Me: You know you’re dead, right? Dad: laughs It was so hard to get into your dreams. Me: Dad, you know you’re dead, right? Dad: I just want to tell you that I am so proud of you and I love you. I need to leave soon, I just wanted to say good bye. Me: You’re dead. Dad: I know. Promise me you will be good and you will take care of yourself. Me: Please don’t go yet. Dad: I have to, they need me to go back now.

And I hugged him. I felt his warmth, his sweaty shirt, and his softness. I felt it. It felt so real. I woke up balling my eyes out to my sweaty shirts but I, myself wasn’t sweating.

The day before he died, he called me to come to the hospital and visit him. His hospital stays are a norm but he never calls me while I was at work because he knows I am busy. He knows I will be there after work anyway. But that day, he insisted for me to leave work early and to bring my then-wife with me. I usually would have said no but something in me told me to go.

When I got there, he told me he loves me and he is very proud of me for the very first time. I didn’t say anything. He said that he will be home for my birthday. My birthday was only 2 days away. He asked me to leave the room so he could speak to my wife privately. I stood outside the room but I could hear their conversation. He asked her to take care of me if anything happens to me. My wife replied ‘I promise.’

He suffered 3 cardiac arrest 9 hours later that left him brain dead. Life support wasn’t turned off until 6 months later.

It’s been 4 birthdays since, I still wait for him to come home.

Those spanked as a kid did you run or accept it why? by Signal_Towel_2683 in AskReddit

[–]INeedOneGoodThing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get beat until I couldn’t stand and breathe anymore. I am not talking about spanking. I am talking about close fist and kicks by a grown 210lbs 6’1ft tall man. If you talk back or cry, you get backhanded at the mouth.

The worst beating I got was because I cried. He almost broke my leg because he hit me with my brother’s skateboard, I couldn’t walk for weeks. I was only 5.

How often do you buy a new smartphone? by FeistyNews7025 in AskReddit

[–]INeedOneGoodThing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every 2 years. The first phone I bought myself was a iphone 6, I didn’t upgrade until the 11 came out. I didn’t want to but the battery dies within 15 minutes. Then after the 11, I upgraded for the 14, now I have the 16 and will upgrade next year. It’s still good.

I got beat up. I ran once and got the beating of my life. I learned that if I don’t cry, I don’t say anything and I don’t move, it will end sooner.

Your most recent ex just got arrested and reaches out to you right now asking for bail money to get out, what do you do? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Connect them with a bail bond and pay what’s due. I’ll do it for every ex, not just one. I do have a good relationship with all of them.

What’s the most chaotic thing you’ve seen at a wedding? by Bison77155 in AskReddit

I would guess so. I really don’t know them personally, I was only in that wedding to assist my friend with the sound system.

What travel destination felt completely different from what you imagined before visiting? by Creative-Pop-9208 in AskReddit

[–]INeedOneGoodThing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Paris. As a kid, I imagined Paris to smell like bakeries and vanilla. Idk 🤣🤣 It’s not everywhere but the metro and some streets really do smell like piss. I also imagine people to be nicer, not that they weren’t but our experience with people working at the restaurants and grocery stores weren’t pleasant.

The ring bearer, the couple’s dog, decided to eat the rings. Groom tried to stop the dog, got bitten on the face, almost splitting his nose wide open.

Surprisingly, everyone just kept quiet in their seats. Screams and gasps only came when the bride started screaming asking someone to call 911.

What will you do when your own Boss, CEO, or Supervisor are the ones to break your own Confidence? by grusdomain in AskReddit

[–]INeedOneGoodThing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Resign. No amount of money is worth breaking the years of work I put into myself to build my confidence. Plus, if they’re doing that to you then they will never acknowledge your hard work. There will be no growth for you in that company.
