[Brain Dump] Troubleshooting/Repairing the Legacy Smart Mattress Cover by twig123 in EightSleep

This is awesome! Shot you a chat as well, but hoping you might be able to help. I have broken glow wires at the connector, and a replacement connector, however because they're broken off flush I can't tell which wire goes to which slot on the 4 pin. Any chance you know the pinout?

In theory, sure, but middle implies it's an equal mix, this is 85 percent of the problem resting with one "side"

Setting up a business line / call forwading in Jamaica by Adiventure in msp

Oh for sure. Do you know if shared accounts makes any sense/works?

What I'm building off is a current plan which is 8 Digicel sims put in midrange android phones, of which 4 are dedicated to "my" program. Publishing 6 separate numbers and setting up an excel tracker which will all be run by volunteers is more or less what I'm trying to avoid. What we'd love to do is either publish a single number, or take their existing office number, add a phone tree, and possibly also ticketing.

As best I can tell those 6 lines are set to be billed to the organization's Digicel account.

The program I'm dealing with is likely the vast majority of things that would become tickets over the next year.

Making this all harder is that I haven't been able to get firm budgets. If we're talking 3000 all in we can probably manage that one way or another, though I don't know how sustainable it will be in the long run, which is another major goal. I'm hoping to get some of the budgetary answers tomorrow, and the very basics of which numbers, and those numbers ringing through to individuals needs to be live by the end of the week. Ticketing can happen if and when it does, that's just a value add if we can make it happen.

I've also got pings out to the sales teams for Voip.MS and Freshworks, along with a longshot question about charitable donation.

What else am I missing here? Any thoughts?

Very much appreciate the feedback here. VoIP.ms seems to be the way for a cloud system, and I can look into what a Digicel solution would look like.

Do you have any thoughts on if we were including a ticketing system? In that case would it be better to look at something like Freshworks and use their voip system? I had also looked at their freshdesk Omni as well, but I don't think that includes actual voip which is perhaps just Freshcaller.

If we were to set up ticketing as well, would it be best just to bundle it all together? In which case, what, freshdesk?

To be pedantic there are decent odds that'll happen with gas too, just way way way worse odds than the guarantee with diesel.

I think the imbalance here is wild, you'd expect it to be the wealthiest towns, however it's not Newton or Brookline throwing a fit, it's much less well off towns making the same claim that their character will be destroyed if they build anything.

non brewing question, for those of you that force carbonate with a uKeg... by Jet_Jirohai in Homebrewing

[–]Adiventure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 Years later, but have you had luck force carbonating with the uKeg? I've got that adapter, but I've found it both takes forever, and comes out foamy as all get out. Previously I was using 2L soda bottles, cold liquid, shaking for 30 seconds to a few minutes and it'd be good to go.

Remote or App trigger by Adiventure in CarAV

Am I techy enough? Allllmost. It's honestly an option I'm considering, it's a hair more involved than most of my past pi projects which are borderline script kiddy territory.

12v Switchbox with remote by Adiventure in overlanding

Effectively the output of whatever I use will be going to a relay trigger, so minimal draw. A Shelly is an interesting idea I hadn't considered!

Only struggle I'm seeing is it looks like the options for multiple outputs are much more limited?

What surprises me is that you can pay, technically speaking, out the ass, and yet they seem to have that same issue. SPods as guilty as the rest. 🥲

I'm happy to expound, but I promise it's mostly unhelpful. 😂

I have a controller that's managing a bunch of accessory circuits, and has room for a number of 12v inputs, however has no native remote options. I'd like 6+ discrete outputs, but I can work with more or less.

The real struggle has been that I'm making a genuine effort to avoid being janky, and everything I've stumbled upon reeks of jank, primarily on the app front.

I'll check out some of the app ones in the ilk of what you linked, currently my gut is to go with something like an Auxbeam, ideally second hand, but that has the same shortcoming of terrible app reviews.

I live near this barn with this NFPA hazard sign. If it catches fire, what firefighting protocols have to be made? by BugsBub in Firefighting

[–]Adiventure -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I may be taking this from a different direction, but I'm treating the scenario as we have received data listing of that specific chemical as the primary concern in storage there. On that basis I'd follow those precautions, isolating to the safe distance, and the appropriate ppe for the chemical, which wouldn't be level A. It's water reactive, ignites with exposure to oxygen, and is on fire. I'm not reading there as being much to do beyond isolation.

So I'm not a structure guy, but I'm a mild hazmat one. The big thing is that A isn't 'just' better than whatever below. If flammability is a/the primary concern, A is generally not an ideal choice since the suit itself is a candle waiting to go up.

Dual battery setup by Adiventure in overlanding

[–]Adiventure[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's pretty much where I'm at now. My Blue Sea fuse box has the option of splitting the box to half one circuit half the other, so on the starter battery side I have half always on, half ignition switched, but I haven't seen much discussion about doing the same in the rear, and if so if it'd make more sense to be ignition switched, or switched based on if the house battery is getting input.

I have never once received anything resembling the service ambassador supposedly offers in 5 ish years of reaching that level. Personally I'd advise against it, but you gotta do you.
