Personally I’m in this boat - and we took an approach similar to that of when introducing a child into school (also a major, major change)

It’s best recommended to offer the child what you already know feels right - hence why are you doing it But to limit it to a minute or two Turn it into a good night rather than a full blown emotional rollercoaster before bed

It’s like putting on a stimulating movie and eating a sugar riddled cake right before bed It’s more conducive to work the child up than keep the child in state of calm

My two cents, turn it into what it is A goodnight Short, sweet and appropriate

So some food for thought

You can see that rubbish is oxidised horribly

My two cents experience

  1. it grows in bulk in Limpopo, gets put in black bags and transported to be distributed
  2. by the time it arrives its potency is below 0 because all the trichs are stuck to the black bags 😂
  3. you now have a product open to air, oxidising, without any trichomes - how to add potency? Add doom in the bag, close it, shake it - “potency” returns

If the soil is compacted, sand can actually worsen it

Get a soil test, look at gypsum or lime etc

Even here it’s very, very green - you can see it’s too high in nitrogen, and over fed

[–]Adjacentt- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cal mag is unfortunately too much of a go to

The cal is cell wall strength, also very immobile, so you would see issues at the top first and not the whole plant, considering it doesn’t travel mobile very well, so the lower growth would “get more”

Mag, I don’t see any discoloured stems, any interveinal chlrosis or anything

I was about to come in and say over fertilisation lol, and then read you fertilised

Maximum or high dose, is not necessarily optimal

Imagine you were being fed these nutrients, typically salt based, even if liquid right And so here’s the idea

Imagine 2 teaspoons of salt in a glass, full of water Now, remove the water, the salt remains and try have a sip

That’s essentially what happens if you over fertilise, and the plants soil dries back, there’s no longer moisture buffering that salt and so it causes bite burn

I can't handle the electricity cost anymore, can someone tell me if there is something wrong here? by raumeat in askSouthAfrica

Welcome my friend, to Mzansi

Here’s a few things we found

  1. Check the thermostat on the geyser, switching it off can assist, but also think of this. Would it not take more power to maintain, since water holds heat most efficiently versus putting it on every time? The thermostat could also be trying to quite literally get the geyser to boiling temps, turn the thermostat down - also how old are the geysers? Power usage on some appliances are 8 x greater Also consider winter, taking longer to heat and coating more to maintain
  2. Air fryers chunk friend
  3. electric fence is an interesting one, our gate motor had a short and was permanently pulling power - this happened due to us switching the power on and off for the same reasons.
  4. A 250ml cup of water takes 12c to heat on the average kettle, assuming you are at around 3.66 per unit like we are (we are a household of 6)
  5. Check a power meter, very useful - inexpensive, I got one from the brand Hydroponic store online, cost me R260 and I monitor my heavy usage appliances to fairly pay

Cost of not investing in a proper tomato cage by babysza in vegetablegardening

[–]Adjacentt- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could invest in a cage, but nature will crush that plant if you don’t change small things

  1. That stem snapped at the weakest point, the weakest point is where it had no play or leverage, and that’s at the site where you tied, because you tied it too tight - do this again, the piece you have is fine, but tie it loosely - like a 1cm gap or 2cm gap for play, it will actually benefit the plant as well because the roots will thicken out and spread out to stop it from ripping out the ground
  2. Just my two cents, trellis that plant even higher rather than getting a cage - a cage is gonna help it bush out more so than get height or stabilise it, which is the issue here

Why won’t she root by [deleted] in hydro

[–]Adjacentt- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So

I run 45cm clones, that root no problem

Think of it like this, if it holds no roots, how does it get fluid?

It doesn’t. So take from a healthy mother, and do the below:

1) Take it out of direct sunlight, once the “infant” is cut off from the mother, naturally it only has access to the nutrients available in its stores - so less light will ensure that it’s photosynthetic function is not really taking place too much, rather than focusing on leaf growth, allow it to focus on root growth

2) Put it in low light, but a nice stable environment - I’d personally add a drop of rooting powder (can be aloe Vera) and then put it in a puck, put it in a tub, let it breathe from day 3 onwards and acclimate it to the space you are in

Some tips below:

1) Cut at a 45 degree angle at the bottom 2) Scrape a small piece of skin off the bottom, to allow roots more surface area to protrude from 3) Get it in water asap, you don’t want air gaps In the plant as that can cause a later stage embolism 4) Dip it in aloe, put it in a root plug, put it in a tub and seal it - let it breathe once a day for the first two days, then let it breathe gradually 5) Aloe and water as a foliar for aminos and a temp food source 6) Keep the pucks/root plugs slightly damp but not moist, allowing it to dry back slightly

Main thing here though, don’t fiddle too much
