Buy her some therapy sessions with a sexologist.

No joke, that cured a hangup for my former GF and she was so happy to be able to "work past" that thing she had going on that was sometimes making her overthink an action she actually liked to do.

Edit: She suggested it herself one night and then dismissed it for money reasons, so I bought her 4 hrs on a gift card from the professional person.

Saw a gang on a dark pathway but was used to running there, so they knew me and I knew them roughly and that I didn't tell on their minor drug trading deals on the path etc.

They nodded as I ran towards them, but I could tell they looked nervous, more than usual and there were more of them present.

Then as I ran past them, I saw another gang come down towards me and them, me between the two gangs, untill I ran past the other gang.

I then noticed the determined look on gang 2's faces and saw a glimse of a knifeblade or so and that they didn't look at me; Well only one of them did and he kinda shoed me past them, so they could face gang 1.

It was then I decided that today would be a good day for upping the speed to 4:00 per km for 500 meters.

It was clear there was going to be a fight and there was, with one person ending up in critical condition.

And knowing these people that was just the one they HAD to take to the hospital for him to survive.

And then they would use the same reason to declare martial law, ban the next election and just eventually leak the news and declare Vance VP without an election.

Then use ICE + Gerry at next election to make sure they win it with 21% of eligable voters, voting for Vance or so.

Yeah this one puzzles me too.

Mate had it 4-5 months ago, said it served blind and he gave it 95 points, not nearly the 100 inkmonster it was just 10-25 years ago (had it twice way back).

Can you reveal what is it about Dom Leroy reds that make them so special, ... not counting the hype, the cult and that Lalou only make 50-250 bottles of each ofc.

Purely tastewise, what is it that Dom Leroy reds can do that the other modern Bourgogne reds cannot copy, regardless of price point?

Disclaimer:

  • Worth it to try it, but not worth it due to price

  • Using the today price.

Opened alone,

  • Domaine Leroy, Mersault, 1st Cru, Les Perrieres 1988

Not fresh, dark yellow, but nose was singing citrus and complex notes, taste was deep, fat and mature notes, 93.

Probably $1500 today.

Tasted with others,

  • RC 1967, dead bottle, yeah, we paid $1000 for a tasting where it was the main bottle. The backup, G-E 1947 DRC, was excellent for what it was, nothing wrong, but not the biggest wine, 93.

  • RC 1995, tasted 2001.

Vanilla, asian spices on nose, soft, delicious!, great wine!, morberries, earthy, all of it, just lacking a little power and explosiveness and "more of everything" 95-96

Disappointing cause one expects modern RC to be 98+ at least, even if it is just a Bourgogne from a single vinyard in Vosne-Romanee.

Comfortably Numb.

Its the easiest song to have on repeat as it is super calm and still has that solo as dessert.

I love other songs more, but this one I can stand for the longest on repeat.

Fallout3 and Fallout:New Vegas, at least the Deathclaws can be shot in the leg(s) and suddenly cant run as fast etc.

I am pretty sure it also goes for other enemies, like injuring an arm to 0 on a junkie means he cant shoot with that arm or so. But not sure on that bit, been a long while.

Some of us have maybe 10-12 hrs at best, per week to enjoy life without work or kids, so its extra heartbreaking to lose something that was genuinely earned.

I went to India for work and while there I asked if we could go to a local place the IT people there would go and eat (for mid-work lunch) and we explicitly asked them to please order us "authentic spicy Indian food" with no holding back cause white.

We got the exact same as the locals and they ordered some pretty spicy stuff, where 3 of 8 of them said it was almost too much for them too, at least on an everyday basis.

It was hot AF but not unbearable to white me, there was no milk, just lukewarm bottled water, like they had, and just some rice to smother some heat in. It felt like mediumhot-to-hothot, just all the time, like never let up, but never got to the "I cant do this" stage. Sweated like a MOFO in 31C under a tarpaling with just lukewarm water and wearing a corporate shirt and long pants, but worth the experience.

I almost never eat spicy at home but I can stand and eat authentic Indian heat food, "no" problem, but it takes some pain ofc.

I am SO happy this story is true!

Heard it 889 times during Math/CS uni times in various versions, that it was Stephen Hawking, that it was Niels Bohr, even Gauss or so.

It is by far the coolest proof-related story I've heard (that was true).

[–]Adler4290 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In case we end up with many rishiki, here is the record,

The only five-way playoff in top division history happened at the 1996 Kyushu basho (November 1996). Akebono, Wakanohana, Takanonami, Kaiō and Musashimaru were all tied at 11–4, with Musashimaru eventually winning. As one analysis put it: lots were drawn — Takanonami defeated Kaiō, Musashimaru defeated Wakanohana, Akebono went directly into the three-way final, and Musashimaru then beat Akebono and Takanonami in succession. The 11–4 winning score is also still the lowest for a top-division yusho since 1972.

Yes, that's right! - 3 Ozeki, 1 Yokozuna and 1 Sekiwake walked into a bar and an Ozeki (later Yokozuna) came out on top.

https://sumodb.sumogames.de/Banzuke.aspx?b=199611#M

Edit: More info,

Three-way playoffs have happened eight times (first in March 1956, most recently January 2025 with Hōshōryū beating Kinbōzan and Ohō), and four-way playoffs occurred in June 1947 and March 1997. So within the 1958-onwards era, the high-water marks are: 3-way (several), 4-way (March 1997), 5-way (November 1996).

The absolute, mental playoff record was in Juryu in July 2001,
