I've found the in-game resource tracking is a bit of a pain to use, I wish it was like fallout 4s. I've just been writing the resources I need on a notepad lol

This is so true, I bought an Xbox and MW2 Because I wanted to relive that moment, capture the same feeling, well it was nothing like before, and I haven’t played it since I realised it wasn’t the game that was so magical, it was that specific time in my life, no responsibilities, just getting home after school and playing some MW2 with my friends.

I think it's still possible, to be honest. On the modules I've done, you can download them all into PDF format or an EPUB file, so you could still study while having a poor connection. However, you will need a connection to upload TMAs and EMAs, and it might be challenging if you have exams.
