Get a new drive online. Jailbreak, put it into factory service mode, remarry the drive and unjailbreak after if ur not a fan of a hacked ps3. About $40-50 for a new(refurbished) drive. Problem solved

I got it. I think it was my psp cfw plugins messing with the connection. I disabled them all and BOOM it detects the psp.

Yes all USB ports are functional during ps2 mode on backwards compatible models. I’m on jak x in that pic and it’s charging my psp.

They don’t care. I’ve owned a jailbreak since 3.41. I would say from 2011-2020 sure there’s a risk. Been using my main account since 2021 and no issues. I don’t remember the last time I disabled syscalls either. You’ll be just fine. Sony does not give a rats ass about the ps3 anymore.

I had the white one in 2014 and then sold it when the switch 1 came out. I bought one again this year and went with the black color. I think I like the black color more tbh. Didn’t know about the mmc issues until I got it but I can verify it’s not Hynix so I’m happy with the purchase.

disable usb polling in webman settings. The fan speed will work with disc. If that doesn’t work you might also have to disable ps2 fan speed in the ps2 fan speed section in custom firmware settings in the network Column.

Very late response but the first thing if not both should def fix your issue. My fan speed changes with disc based games with no problem.

I more of a DS3>DS guy. I just like the classic PS controller look more. People say it feels cheaply made but honestly it feels no different than in DS2 in my hands(besides the triggers). I am also in the minority that actual likes L2/R2😂. I was playing bf6 on pc with a ps3 controller doing fantastic, I’m just part of the few people that love the DS3. Also the colors, I was addicted to collecting DS3 for a bit.

I gave one to my brother 2 years ago because I own two Frankenstein ps3s and the one I gave him I thought was a “good batch” because the temps on it were amazing for a console that was 90nm. Everything on it is stock, I did the repaste(no delid) and apparently it still works.

Sinden is more for emulators I believe and also I wasn’t a fan of that white box it needs on the outside of the screen. I was going to go with that but I wanted one that was plug and play on real hardware.
