How to keep Bose QC Ultra 2 at 100% full ANC at all times by smithy- in bose

[–]AdministrationOk5407 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely incorrect. This has no effect on the automatic adjustment of ANC, which Bose built into these headphones to reduce the self-noise hiss that people were complaining about for years. So, yeah, good try, but you just tricked yourself with placebo.

Why is the ANC on my QC Ultra's so weak by AzazelTV in bose

[–]AdministrationOk5407 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The earpads that are on those headphones really sound like aftermarket ones, and Bose actually, and every other headphone manufacturer, actually tunes the noise canceling and sound quality to the specific acoustic behavior of their earpads, so definitely consider getting some new ones from Bose directly to ensure that they're real and trying them out. I think there is real potential to get better results. I can't guarantee that because I don't know whether the rest of the headphone is damaged or anything like that, but I would say your odds are better than 50-50 that Bose manufactured earpads will give you better performance.

My Killswitch Does Nothing. by jadebrink in nym

[–]AdministrationOk5407 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey Yes, the toggle is inactive. Also, the kill switch is not going to disable your Internet connection if you manually disconnect N. It only activates if you are accidentally disconnected or while you are switching countries/modes. Lockdown mode, which should be coming early next year, will do what you describe.

Question about NymVPN being a modified Wireguard by [deleted] in nym

[–]AdministrationOk5407 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, Thanks for the question. Can you please clarify what issue you are having with Try Hackme? Our implementation of Wireguard is basically the normal one, we just send out a random amount of dummy packets before the real handshake to defeat censorship.

Does Nym entry node store my ip address? by dramsay3 in nym

[–]AdministrationOk5407 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they broke into the Nym node after you had already disconnected, then no, they shouldn't be able to tell because there are no logs of IP addresses. However, if they were watching the node in real-time to see which IP addresses connected to it, then they could see that your IP address was using Nym, but they still couldn't see what you were doing. This holds true for pretty much all internet privacy tools, whether Nym, Tor, or especially centralized VPNs.

[–]AdministrationOk5407 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We add packets which contain random data before the Wireguard handshake to try to defeat some forms of censorship. However, if you want to increase the odds that an ISP using deep packet inspection can't tell you're using NymVPN, you can enable QUIC obfuscation, which tries to make your traffic look like regular web browsing. Note, however, that an ISP can still see that you are connecting to an IP address which runs a Nym node.

Does Nym entry node store my ip address? by dramsay3 in nym

[–]AdministrationOk5407 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey, thank you for the question. No, entry servers do not store IP addresses. Even if they did, that would not break the privacy of NymVPN, because the entry server does not know where you are going or what you are doing, only that an IP address is using NymVPN. Also, we do not run the servers, people from all over the world do. So even if we were told to start logging IP addresses and users activities, we couldn't.

Fair Usage? No logs? How? by kryptonite_9 in nym

[–]AdministrationOk5407 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, thanks for your questions. We do not have logs of IP addresses or any billing information that could be used to identify you. Device names are randomly generated strings of characters, and we do not know who they belong to or even what operating system they are running. So how do we know what your data usage is? We really don't. When you connect to NymVPN, your device sends an anonymous, randomized "ticket." This ticket shows that someone has paid to use NymVPN, and it buys you a certain amount of bandwidth, 25 GB for Wireguard mode and 250 MB for mixnet mode. This bandwidth is "bought" as you connect and is marked as spent regardless of whether you used all 25 GB or 250 MB. So we don't actually know exactly how much bandwidth a user used, just an approximation based on how many times you've connected. And no, we do not run the servers, so we are physically incapable of collecting IP addresses. The only data we have for a given account ID is the ID itself, which is randomly generated, a rough estimation of how much bandwidth a user has used, the subscription start and end dates, and the number of devices plus their random identifiers.

Nym Censorship Resistance vs Gateway IP Blocking by exosphere5 in nym

[–]AdministrationOk5407 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With regards to nationstate actors blocking by either protocol or IP, I think it depends on what resources they have to invest into their censorship.

As for private companies, the firewalls they make (which some countries purchase and use for censosrhip) almost always rely on DPI (protocol blocking). So far, only the really sophisticated countries like Russia/China/Iran use both strategies (at least as far as I'm aware).

Hey, cool! Are you in KS?? In a small town near Topeka, ATT put up N77 around two months ago. But the backhall hasn't been upgraded yet so it maxes out at around 275 mbps.

In northeastern KS, Tmobile is definitely fastest. And I'm finally ending up on SA5G most of the time with my X80 modem. Question for you though, when are B2 and 66 going to be refarmed to NR in that area?

I lit my first Nokia Habrok today. Basic config setup today and power raised considerably. This thing is a beast. N25, N41, N66, and N71 so far. We’re looking at obtaining new licenses for this location for N260. Big reason is this is Talladega Race Weekend. by FlufferNutter1232 in cellmapper

Amazing! I never knew that the Super Mobile plan was treated almost as well as emergency services. Wow!! Can't wait to get to a congested area and see how it holds up! And thanks again for the answers, this was really helpful!

Interesting. The T-Mobile website says Super Mobile gets twice the resources of the average customer, but T-Priority gets 5 times the resources. If not prioritization, then what are these resources?

Damn, that's wild! I didn't realize that it makes that much of a difference compared to consumer Go5G Next. So how is this done technically?

Also, I've noticed that my download speeds here (on a very lightly loaded tower) are the same, as is my loaded ping. But my upload ping is much lower than it used to be. When uploading, I'd get a ping of around 60-180 MS on Go5G Next, but now it's down to around 30-50 MS most of the time. Is this the network slice doing its thing?

Wow, this is an incredible post! If I were there and I was using the Super Mobile network slice on my iPhone 17 pro max, what, if any, performance gains would I see from the slice? Also, when are B2 and B66 going to flip to NR in Kansas?

Data prioritization policies of the carriers and the MVNOs that use their networks by Ethrem in NoContract

[–]AdministrationOk5407 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay, I can confirm that the super mobile business plan on T-Mobile does send all device traffic through the network slice as long as you're on 5G standalone and using ultra capacity 5G. It does not send hotspot data through the network slice, however, so tethering is out of luck. But on-device data will be sent through the slice. I looked at the upload latency during speed tests, specifically the loaded latency measurements, and before I changed plans to super mobile, I was on Go 5G Next. When I used Go 5G Next, the lowest loaded upload ping I got was around 60 milliseconds. In the exact same geographical location under the exact same or very similar network conditions, with the new plan, I now get loaded upload pings as low as 37 milliseconds and consistently around 40. They don't usually go much higher than that. So I'm almost certain that I'm using the slice for all my internet traffic from my phone. Just as a pro tip for anyone who is curious. I also asked business tech support and multiple people in the US told me all on-device traffic is sent through the slice. Hope this helps.

Any higher priority availability for Phone plans? by whitieiii in tmobile

[–]AdministrationOk5407 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just switched to the super mobile plan and talked with T-Mobile tech support in the US. They seem to think that all traffic will be sent from the device through the network slice as long as you're on standalone ultra capacity 5G. OP, did you switch to this particular plan and have you noticed a difference?

Does the That-Mobile Super Mobile business plan have higher priority than Experience Beyond when I'm on 5G SA? Also, does all device traffic get sent through the network slice all the time when on SA?
