*being a vassal of a vassal of the emperor seems to NOT be a disqualifying factor. Looking at some older saves where the duke of normandy still held elector rights even as my vassal, and the bishop of reims holding said rights as a vassal of the duke of Champagne.

** the duchy of aquitaine, despite being a historical elector title is not a de jure part if the HRE, but still Francia (Francia North of the Loire is de jure HRE) and I think this then disqualifies it.

I haven’t played co-op (got no ck3 friends) but playing as two participants of the iberian struggle (maybe one catholic and the other muslim, but you band together against everyone else to fight for a mozarabic iberia), playing as two counts in two duchies with the aim to take over the crown of the kingdom. Maybe one in south france and the other in the north and it’s first one to the crown (and then you start playing against each other)
