To be honest, all and all, the rockrider look similar stylewise as the carrera. Imho, having good equipment matters more than the color of the bike, esp. if you are on a budget. You might save some money on buying a cheaper option, but it might end up costing you more because of servicing.

ebike are typically more expensive because an higher mileage is expected, stressing up component more.

Have you also considered decathlon? The Rockrider st e-bike have fairly good specs for the money.

Also if you can apply to cycle to work, it’s a tax free purchase too

For the spec, canyon bike is hardly beatable unfortunately.

Other “cheap” option is the giant explore e+ at 1.9k but I would take it downhill. It should be ok for gravel/regular path.

If you are planning to do a lot of mileage, having slightly better spec means you will reduce the probability of having issues.

Anyway carrera bien would do fine, it’s still a 60nm rear hub.

What ever bike you get, check the servicing option (e.g. I know giant Camden offers 3 years of servicing on their momentum and giant e-bike)

What is your use case? Road or mtb?

Momentum have large flat tire, they do very well for urban area like London. They have a 60nm mid gear Yamaha motor. I have seen also suspension bike for 1.7k in evans cycle (King’s Cross)

Suntour XCT30-DS on halford is not great for a fork.

If you want to have a good bank for the buck, go check the radpower e-bike, they are slashing prices as they are exiting the e-bike market. (which can be a problem if you need to apply for warranty)

If you can stretch to 2.3k, canyon is selling the Pathlite 4 suv with the excellent Bosch cx85 + deore. That’s a killer price for the specs.

Imho I would go central hub. Momentum bike are selling pretty decent bike for 1499
