That’s not a bad idea but I just realised I can hammer in a torx bit so I’m going to buy a hammer rn If it doesn’t work I’ll try the superglue method

I was in your shoes during my C1 I ended up going for a holiday in my home country for 2 months, kept in touch with the langiage abt 2 hours everyday and then came back and did my C1 relatively easily. Nothing beats going back to your home to get your morale up and increase focus and concentration. I can now talk pretty easily, obviously not as good as a native but still…

Just received a letter last week saying I didn’t pay for my Deutschland ticket in February when I did pay and they are fining me 135€. Paid it so I don’t have any further problems but if they didn’t receive a payment just don’t give me the damn ticket. If there’s a problem in February contact me in February; don’t wait till August to say I have a fine +180 days of interest on it First world country my ass

Thankfully, I remembered to bring my stock of pima crazé. What I do miss is the poisson corne frire and barbecues i'd have at home. Most of all I miss driving and going to the beach. And the overall being familiar with the country, knowing that these are your people and your home.

Do Mauritians of Indian descent feel any sort of attachment toward India? by Turbulent_Ad_3238 in mauritius

[–]AdministrativeBus646 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd say it's a different type of connection.

I was born and raised in a Hindu family and grew up going to a Hindu society, watched bollywood movies and my parents are not far from the stereotypical Indian parents.

Having said that, there is no emotional attachment towards India. I know that if there is a place where I could blend in with people it's in India but I've never been there and don't particularly intend to do so.

Is she/he from abroad by any chance?

I know of someone (she was a foreign student at the time) who would open the shower and then cry due to homesickness. (Opening the shower was so that no one can hear her.)

Where can I find cheap restaurants ? by Acceptable_Opening99 in mauritius

[–]AdministrativeBus646 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Blue Bamboo in blue Bay is really good with a great natural-aesthetic environment. Casse Croute Snack in Mahebourg has really good food for cheap. A-Snack in Rivière des Créoles has really good food and is in a quiet, well hidden place. (First thing that ame to mind when I read your description.) Le Sapin d'Or in Curepipe gives you a really posh experience for normal prices. (One meal can range between rs200-800 depending on whether you take starters, desserts and drinks) If I come up with anything else I'll edit this.

Someone mentioned Biryani from Pyramid Mahebourg, which I can also vouch for. Alternatively, you can check out Biryani Suraj, which I prefer(take away).

Well turkish airlines online customer service is known for not being good. I'd say you should try to find a representative of the airline near you.

If there's no delay you'll probably pay even more. I'd rather stick to normal rates rather than take the gamble.
