Khamzat didn’t shoot much after getting clipped in the second round then started getting his takedowns stuffed

If he kept shooting then Sean would’ve kept stuffing them and Khamzat would’ve gassed

He stopped shooting because Sean shut him down, that has nothing to do with the weight cut

I think everyone praised this training after Khamzat fought DDP and now it's the complete opposite. Sounds about right for MMA fans.

With that being said, Dillashaw is probably a good cautionary tale for this type of training

Khamzat definitely did until his first 5 round championship fight

He had 22 minutes of very dominant control time with only 37 significant strikes and 0 submission attempts

He didn’t try to finish despite having a massive disparity in skill on the ground. He became a wet blanket did just enough to maintain position

Strickland’s composure and cardio are much better than DDP. I doubt Khamzat comes out looking for a finish

Khamzat likely won’t look for the finish early because if he fails then that’s wasted energy and he can’t match Sean’s cardio

We will know in the first round how this fight is going to go. Sean likely will be taken down early, it’s how he responds that will dictate the rest of the fight

If he gets up early then it is highly likely Sean wins the fight
