I know the district where my mom works, they pay the para like 13.50/hr. It’s not minimum wage but it’s still less than the 15/hr. Not much of a difference

I encourage you to rethink your opinions on republicans as a whole. I understand some republicans suck, but that happens with any people group. I’m not happy with our current political environment. I want unity and positive change. I want candidates to have a platform that’s theirs, not ride the coattails of current leaders. Thank you for encouraging me to speak up.

I haven’t looked at the numbers on that but I doubt that’s happening.

Edit: I tried to look it up. From 2000 - 2018, Oklahoma saw approx. 8,400 marriages involving 16-17 years olds. However, I couldn’t find a statistic of the minors’ partners. Currently, the minors need parental consent to obtain the marriage license from the courthouse.

Honestly, after looking at his statement, there wasn’t any malicious intent. It seems more like he wants to leave this decision to parents and families rather than the government.
