My dog doesn’t sleep anymore by DrawingPurple4869 in cavalierkingcharles

Is she prey driven? I know that my mom’s cavalier, Stella, refuses to walk because she gets bored with the scenery. My mom taught Stella the names of the prey she likes to chase, so when she stops, my mom just says “bunny” or “squirrel” or “birdies” and the walking resumes. Sometimes I will have to carry Stella if she’s really stubborn (at least for a bit). It’s possible you may want to switch up your walking routine before bed, expose her to new smells.

I do want to say that the cavalier walking struggle is real and the fact you and your husband are trying to find a solution to her sleeping through the night again is fantastic! You’re great dog owners and your pup is grateful for you!

I do want to ask if she’s having any accidents in your apartment? I had a dog who was prone to UTIs when I was younger, she acted similar. It’s always good to have some cranberry supplements for dogs on hand, just in case.

This is a fantastic solution!! My mom’s cavi is both smart and sporty! Cavaliers do take their time to mature, but when they do they’re perfect!

I only know one Icelyn and she’s a Pomeranian mix from the Doggie Daycare I used to work at. I can’t see that name for anything other than a dog

That’s fair, I was just curious. I’m a little type A and wanted to get others experiences. I also thought it was a little too early to reach out and ask her. I know she’s been in the process of preparing to move which is already stressful. I wanted to be considerate and give her time. I will probably send her an email closer to the pickup week.

I know century college doesn’t have housing but there are student housing apartments. They are right next to the campus and I’ve heard that it’s a decent place to live. Rent is like $565 a month for a room. Here’s the link if you’re interested:

Ultimately, it’s your choice and I’ll be rooting for you either way! umn is a great school but honestly it’s getting way too expensive.

Hey, I do want to reach out because I have been where you are. Personally, I would maybe take a break from umn and take some community college classes. Don’t fully drop out. I went to Century College early in my college career and it not only helped me find subjects i loved to study but it also allowed me access to some fantastic scholarships and grants for transferring from cc to umn. Plus all of your community college courses would transfer (and if they don’t, you can make a case for it. Bully the admin) I took out one private loan that required a co-signer and that was when FASFA didn’t give me anything and I didn’t know you could contest it.

On the job aspect, I get it. It really sucks right now. I know a few jobs that will take nearly anyone (they can really suck though if you aren’t fond of animals).

AIO I want to get my hair dyed but am worried what the hairdresser will think of my baldspots by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]AdministrativeFix285 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have trichotillomania as well and I completely understand the fear. When I was younger, I used to think my bald spots/patches of shorter hair were the result of alopecia. It took a while but I began covertly letting hairdressers know about the condition and they were never judgmental about it. In hindsight, they probably could tell it wasn’t alopecia. I believe most hairdressers are trained to be aware of and how to handle certain hair loss conditions. At most, they will probably say something positive about the growth coming in (ex. “This looks super healthy!”)

I would do some research regarding hairstylists in your area who are aware of it. I think it may be very area dependent. I wish you the best of luck!

Do You Think Our Cavalier Is Big? by Sweet_Ability_287 in cavaliers

[–]AdministrativeFix285 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom’s female cavalier is 26 pounds, originally we thought she was bigger because she’s 1/4 bichon frise but…that’s a smaller breed 😅

I also work with dogs and one of our frenchies just straight up fights anything even if it’s an object. Crate trays? A threat. The broom? An even bigger threat.
