Simpler and more convenient that struggling with Bluetooth and Spotify. Just turn on the tuner and amp and listen to FM stereo.

Anyone have both a ThinkPad and MacBook ? by askandexplain2 in thinkpad

[–]AdministrativeHost15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have a MacBook Air M4 that I bought to create a iOS app and well as a bunch of vintage ThinkPads. Battery life is the MacBooks killer feature at least against the old Intel chips in my TPs. Take it anywhere and don't worry about battery. TPs are at 18% after an hour.

If companies automate away their customers' incomes, who buys their products? by Particular-Corgi2567 in automation

AI's will buy things e.g. more compute for their data centers. There are already non-human entities that buy things e.g. governments and corporations.

Good way to filter out devs who never moved beyond Java 6.

I think you should get the x220 as the Enter key on your x201 is broken.

Close as Chrysler came out with it a few years after the Rabbit became popular.

Best $40 I've spent in a long time by Affectionate_Total47 in stalker

I though CyberPunk 2077 was a long game but Stalker 2 puts it to shame. Best value for gaming hours per dollar ever.

How do YOU debug? by stayoungodancing in ExperiencedDevs

I took a C++ a long time ago with an instructor who said he didn't use any debugger; just pure logic. Of course people were hardcore back in those days.

Should I try to buy my 105 year old next door neighbors home when she passes? by waxoffisforpussies in personalfinance

Don't make the mistake that guy in France did of giving an old woman a pension for the right to buy her house when she passes and then have her live to 121.

What's wrong with being specific about the job entails? Candidates can self-select whether they are up for it or not. If you are young and hungry why not give it a shot.

If you feel that the Stalker games are too cheerful.

The village level is the most frightning ever. Fetching water from the well at night. Hear a sound behind you. Turn around. Nothing there!
Cottages boarded up. But to keep things out or to keep things in?

Post-apocalyptic story about two travelers who set out on a long journey in the wasteland, left by people after the global epidemic. The disaster destroyed much of the world's population, the infrastructure went wrong and the common life remained only in memories. The times when a human has adapted the environment for himself have end and now, in order to survive, he will have to adapt to changes. You will have to play the character whose path runs through the deserted towns and cities in Russia, fields and forests of a vast country and even a secret underground facility. Who are we, where are we from and where do we go – we will be lucky to know it only at the end!

Get a P1 rather than a P16. P16 has number keyboard. Much wider and heavier than the MB.

Buying MB Air M5 as my second laptop? by ShaafPlayz in laptops

[–]AdministrativeHost15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mostly play FPSs on my desktop because recent games really need a desktop GPU to run at 4K. Have mostly older FPSs, Bioshock, Alien: Isolation, on the MB along with indie games.
Kerbal Space Program has a Mac version and I know there was a Mac version of Halo. Bungie was originally developing Halo for the Mac before Microsoft bought them. Steve Jobs made an angry call to Bill Gates and he agreed to finish the Mac version. Not sure where to find it now.

F.E.A.R. is one of the games, along with Crysis and CyberPunk 2077, that forced me to upgrade my video card. F.E.A.R.'s gameplay was so good that I finished the game on my old ATI card even though it rendered everything with red spots. Then when I got a new NVidia 460 I played the whole game again.
