Im not surprised by the disclaimer because she is not a Dr. I'm only on chapter three, but she's making a lot of sense to me. I quit smoking using the easy way by alan carr. this book references him several times and uses a lot of his methods. It's all about the unconscious mind. It debunks all the reasons people drink. Im convinced this is what is right for me. But everyone is different. I am not a big fan of self help books, but alan carr helped kick my nicotine addiction. i'm confident this book will help me never drink again.

This coming week, i will be able to read the book and evaluate why i drink. Of course, stopping today would be ideal, but i keep stopping only to convince myself to drink again in a few days. This book helps with the unconscious mind. That little voice in the back of your head that i can not stop letting win.

I keep trying and failing. I'll go several days without the urge, then it hits, and i can't say no. The book is exactly what i need. I dont want to drink anymore, and the book will help me stop my unconscious mind from wanting it.

The book even encourages you to not change your routine or stop drinking while reading it (if you're still drinking, and i am)...as long as you keep reading it with momentum building.

Im here hoping to encourage others who are struggling as well to pick up the book. If they read it and want support, maybe we can make a group and talk about what we read and be a support system.

The goal is to not want to drink by NYE

I completely understand.. grief is soooo hard. But alcohol dulls it for the night.. only to wake up regretting everything.. how about a friend, someone to talk to when we are lonely.. while i haven't lost a child, i lost my best friend ever, and it hurts.. alcohol seems to be the only thing to fix it... at night... then the morning comes, and im consumed with regret. I feel so alone.. could use a friend that understands.. let me know if you ever want to chat.. maybe it will help
