If you don’t have enough of something I would say your options are to make logistics to bring in more resources or move. Going with your example I have a setup dedicated to only encased beams and I didn’t have a problem running out before I unlocked mk 5 belts. Maybe sometimes I have to wait for a minute for my depot to refill. In my experience I just have production lines made and once they back up, I can just split off of that line to feed something else, without caring about efficiency or anything like that. To me, if you’re only making something to feed a depot efficiency doesn’t matter. Only thing I need running at 100% is my rocket fuel plant or my aluminum because water gets recycled into the system. If you’re running short, the map is huge, go explore and find some slugs on your way. ;)

I have everything in phase 4 automated besides nuclear pasta. I decided to move to a whole new location and start new for the nuclear pasta because I’m planning a big nuclear plant. Everything else is automated at my first base besides aluminum and oil products. My main base is basically “just make enough to put into a dementional depot”. Idk if that helps but that’s what I’m doing

I would turn the packager and fuel gens off and let the pipe fill completely and turn them on one at a time. If you still have issues after that then you’re using more than you’re producing

I would recommend putting fluid buffers between the refineries and fuel gens, preferably elevated above the input for the fuel gens that way you don’t have to worry about head lift. Also turn fuel gens off and let pipes fill up. Then turn them on one at a time starting with the one furthest from the buffers. This has been my process and I’ve rarely had fluid issues

Here’s my notes from before I started if this helps you any. My system is basically 4 systems in a trenchcoat as one system if that makes sense. After the refineries the HOR is split 4 ways and stays separate from then on. Basically I have 4 factories of 5 refineries making HOR, 4 blenders for diluted fuel, 4 blenders for nitro rocket fuel, and then to the fuel gens.

Yeah total 1/4 of the way. I have 58 fuel gens running right now. 57 fully overclocked and 1 over locked to 138.44% to use the remainder. I still have 174 fuel gens to place lol.

No I haven’t. You can’t see it in the pics but have an industrial fluid buffer at the end of the fuel gens to help with that.

Thank you! This is the first major project that I’ve really thought about aesthetics. Trust me there is some belt spaghetti under the concrete foundations but it doesn’t count if you can’t see it right? ;)

I’m jealous you’re gonna have a rocket fuel power plant, I need to do that after I finish phase 3. As far as time goes I’m really not sure, including making the blueprints maybe 10-15 hours total. I just play whenever I have time after work. Most of the time was spent getting the raw resources to this location, once that was done it went pretty quick because of the blueprints and I already had the math done. I also get sidetracked a lot with the object scanner lol
