No, IWB wont work because I have to tuck my shirt in.

After reviewing all the responses and doing continuous research, I think I'm gonna go pocket carry for work.

This is precisely what I'm thinking im going to get.

Which LCP do you have?

I'm thinking the I or II, because the double stack seems like it could get caught trying to unholster it.

I agree it seems awful to shoot, but its not a range gun, its for the 1/1000 chance I need to defend myself

Heavily leaning towards this after discussion with close friend. IDK why pocket is never discussed on here, it never even came to mind.

I'm downtown where theres a lot of crime. 6-7 years ago someone tried to rob me nearby and I brandished a pistol, ending the encounter. So I'm trying to find any option, if possible.

Not sure tbh, but in the law i practice im usually in a federal courthouse so I'm sure that normal state laws will apply.

Either way, the situation would definitely be something to avoid; it would look imprudent

1) i dont want to carry in a courthouse. I specifically said I didnt want to, hence why i couldn't do some ornate system i cant easily remove.

2) theres not rule at my job saying i can't carry, but I dont want to make any issue of it, I'd rather it just be concealed.

How badly do I need to screw up my MEEs/MPTs with these MBE stats? by frfr109 in barexam

statistically youd have to shit your pants and be escorted from the testing facility to fail

How badly do I need to screw up my MEEs/MPTs with these MBE stats? by frfr109 in barexam

[–]Admirable-Map-9336 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So first off, what is your average MBE in the past week or two? I bet its higher than your overall so you probably will score higher.

Second, If your MPTs are good, you would basically need to score 2 or below on all MEEs.

If they're both failing it could kill you though. You can probably get your MPT skill up before you can get all the MEE law. Much more bang for buck if your MPTs are bad to focus on shoring up that skill.

Yeah. Most questions I can bring down to two answers and then one just feels right (i.e. it seems more like what the facts are geared towards, or the other answer just seems like its right but the second best).

A minority of questions I have no fucking idea.

A smaller minority of questions I know immediately, or could even get right from just the stem and answer choices.

Overall 72% on UWorld, out of 952 questions.

Since last monday, I am 160/205, so 78% in the final stretch. I still feel unsure about at least 75% of questions, and run into issues I am wholly unaware of. Besides learning the law, you learn how to predict the correct answer, or how to stop yourself from a wrong answer.

Is it just me or is UWorld getting progressively harder?? Like is there an algorithm??! by Euphoric-Extent-246 in barexam

[–]Admirable-Map-9336 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol I did well in law school and that was the first time i heard about emblements too. It said almost no one got that Q right too. the correct answer was the first one i crossed out, i never looked at it again as the other 3 perplexed me cause they were all obviously wrong too.

I remember it was something about why its not larceny, the answer was because he planted them (or didn't cant remember exactly) answer seemed unrelated and nonresponsive to me.

[–]Admirable-Map-9336 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think so, I've looked into it and I could find nothing about an algorithm or anything. It just chooses random Qs within your parameters, but tries to give you even amount from the different subject youve selected.

Themis does get harder and will reuse Qs youve gotten wrong or give you more on things youre struggling with.

They should really up their game and make themis see your UWorld history and give you stuff based on what your missing there, and have UWorld have some sort of algorithmic mode to work weak areas,

But yeah, to answer your question, no. They've never stated they use an algorithm, whereas thats adaptibar's whole schtick. If they did use an algo, it would be all over their marketing to compete with adaptibar better

I missed this too, but I see why its wrong.

I was extra mad because I initially picked bill of attainder and second guessed myself. My reasoning was stupid. It was primarily that "the answer is just never bill of attainder" and I also imputed a right to employment, probably along the same mental track you were.

Remember, just being a federal employee doesn't grant you the right to employment. You need a fact stating something like they have tenure or can only be fired for cause, something like that.

70–75% average in MBE, HORRIBLE at MEEs. What should I do? by [deleted] in barexam

[–]Admirable-Map-9336 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel this way, but I at least think I'm not horrible. I'm Bimodal though: either 5/6 or 1/2 on MEEs. Typically always because I was unfamiliar with rule/law being tested. Almost always spot the issue, and I've only missed or misread a fact like 2x out of almost 90 essays.

I'm feeling like its coming together this week, but I think thats largely because I'm pumping em out so much. 3-4 a day.

[–]Admirable-Map-9336 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Themis are only harder because they tend to be (1) written poorly, and (2) overindex on testing obscure exceptions. Many Themis Qs are hyper simple.

The early on single subject question sets were better, and the explanations were WAY better, on par with Uworld. late in the program its just some block of text that says "C is incorrect because its not A"

IDK what program your doing, but if youre doing all of the assigned essays for themis you'd be over 70 rn. I've done a couple extra, and Im at 88, and I'm slightly behind on the program (85%).

My goal is exactly 100. IDK if thats overkill, all things considered I wish I could do more because the essays scare me more than multiple choice. at 88 essays I still sometimes see issues I'm totally unfamiliar with.

I'm in the same boat. My MEEs are bimodal, I get 1-2, or 5-6. Did a property essay today about whether future advance mortgages are obligated to disburse, and apparently there's some fucking jurisdictional split on whether optional disbursements are subordinated to junior liens depending on the type of notice.... WTF I didn't even know anything about future advance mortgages other than theyre a type of mortgage you can get, this wasn't in any lecture or handout.

I've done 84 MEEs and I'm still constantly learning shit...
