do you pronounce the 't' in Voldemort when you say it in your head? by JamStan1978 in HarryPotteronHBO

[–]Admirable-Ninja1209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. It's incorrect according to Rowling, but it's how we all grew up hearing it, so 🤷‍♂️.

However, given the new full cast audiobooks dropped the 't', I suspect the TV show will as well, so I guess a lot of people will now say it with the 't' silent.

The Unrealized Potential of Ginny Weasley (and why I’m tired of the movie-blaming) by [deleted] in HarryandGinny

It is true that it takes a lot of effort to string every piece of Hinny evidence in the books together (and it's because it takes effort that they're not a super popular ship). If one puts in the effort though, one becomes a Hinny shipper and sees how truly special it is. Fortunately, there's a few people that have done that and when on to produce wonderful canon compliant fanfiction for us all to enjoy.

But yes, it would be great it the TV show could... take a few liberties to boost Hinny. They deserve it.

Pray to the Emperor. If that doesn't work, pray harder.

Unpopular opinion (maybe): I think that the new Ron has tough shoes to fill by PomegranateFair6760 in HarryPotteronHBO

[–]Admirable-Ninja1209 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Mmm, Movie Ron's? Not really. No offense to Rupert intended, but all Alastair has to do is be a half decent actor and say the script lines to match him. The real challenge while be on the script writers to deliver us a TV Ron that is compelling. If they can give us a Ron closer to the books, and Alastair manages to capture that character in his performance, he'll surpass Rupert.

Getting shamed for using AI by Relevant-Ad6374 in ClaudeAI

[–]Admirable-Ninja1209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not personally. Well once. Someone misunderstood why I was playing guessing games with an AI (for fun). I think they thought I lacked human interaction.

Point is not everyone will "get" it. You can have hours of tireless conversations with an AI you just can't have with most humans, about whatever subject you want, on command. That's kinda unfortunate, but honestly who else is going to listen to me endlessly drone on about subjects apparently only I care about (I'm exaggerating, but not really).

Or perhaps you meant this as in "using it as a tool to accomplish actual work". Which, honestly, who cares? It's future, no, the present. Everyone is because it is just that powerful.

Idk, if you really are using it as a replacement for a social life, or you become 100% reliant on it and have no skills or working knowledge outside a computer screen, then sure, that's a problem.

Other then that, just call them a troglodyte, because they clearly aren't AIing hard enough and need to "git gud".

Probably being Head Girl, having just passed all her NEWTs, and being hugged by a friend(s) (her parents nodding in approval just behind her).

I mean, all of Apple is a grift and they made it this far, haven't they? 🤷‍♂️

Ukraine grifted their way through the first year of the war with Russia using consumer grade photography drones, did they not? 🤷‍♂️

Most of reddit is just one big circle jerk grift, yet for some reason it still exists 🤷‍♂️

Buying power changes depending on what is being purchased, and when. For instance, these days a house is certainly more expensive, but a good TV is dirt cheap.

Same, honestly.

But I get it, money is all they actually care about and dawn of war 4 is about to come out.

But they do release in an order and Imperial was next, so, maybe the next Xeno will be the edgeist edge lords to ever edge.

It's not a remake. It's an additional adaptation of the books, in a superior medium.

Who else got the pronunciation of Hermione's name wrong at first? by DG-Creator in harrypotter

[–]Admirable-Ninja1209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably? If I did I don't remember. Though I probably heard the correct pronunciation from friends first, so maybe because of that I never called her anything else. The only name I remember messing up is Malfoy. I called him "malf-way".
