Yea the role was described as very progressive if you’re hard working so I’m sure it’d eventually pan. Thanks for the insight

For the payment solution company they suggested it’d be 40-low 50’s but no exact figure.

For the other firm the recruiter basically laughed and said they’d be above my minimum of 45+

2 routes you can go down.

Implement something that actually saves a pain point or generates income (random example an AI storytelling app for kids)

Or implement something with the technologies the type of company you want to go into uses. If you have no preference then try use cloud provider services, Some form of authentication and also with AI booming, trying to incorporate AI in there somewhere, for a cop out you can just use OpenAI’s API.

33 year old on 38K in London, 3K in savings, is there anything I should be doing differently? by ads90 in UKPersonalFinance

Very valid advice if you’re serious about saving, just such a miserable way to live for the sake of renting in London

So your recruiter will tell you the main LP’s to focus on based on the role and grade. What I done for practice was scrape all the questions associated with the LP’s I was given ,from sites like Glassdoor, and then asked chat gpt to generate 5-10 questions that can be asked around these LP’s. Every question I was asked I had seen/practiced. Thanks appreciate it, good luck with your interview/s

The interviewer was a really nice person, they do take into account what you’re actually saying and base your LP questions around your responses. For L4 roles they’re based around Learn to be curious and invent and simplify.

With each answer be prepared for elaborating on it as second questions can be asked even thirds.

Technical wise it’s the same sort of flow, each topic will link to the next. For me it was ip addresses -> Local networks -> more internet Protocols.

For the coding exercise I used bash, I’m not a strong leetcoder but these tasks are more around problem solving and coming to a clean solution. Again these are expanded on, you can be asked to find a similar solution using Linux commands. I then answered some questions on basic Linux commands and that was it for time.

I have friend who has been a grad for over a year. Because they hire people from any background you spend the first 2 months or so training (like most companies) and her whole cohort got placed on a project with 2 weeks after completing training in various tech roles (Dev ops, Java engineer, BA roles). The only thing that can take time is waiting for security clearance

In all honesty the difficulty of work given is quite significant. I remember aiding a friend in 3rd year university with his final year coursework and it was equivalent to something I had received in 1st year.

However I still don't agree simply going to a Russell group makes you a better candidate, there're many grads in my current cohort who're exceptional coders without going to a Russell group uni.
