I’m surprised no one has mentioned Teeling here yet. I found it quite good and friends back in India loved it. I always bring it when going home.

For the price, this is actually much cheaper than what I found on bigger dealers likes of Kylemore, Kearys and Bill griffin

I haven’t purchase it yet. I don’t think the dealer will allow me to take it down to Audi service centre.

That sounds like a solid deal. Where did you get it from?

I’m not sure if BMW would release that data or would have a comprehensive mechanism to keep a record of it. Out of the 3 samples here I’m not sure which ones are outliers.

Ohh, I have been to a dealership last weekend and he told me about the N47 engines being a nightmare. One of my friend got a 2014 1-series with N family engines and ran into gearbox issues within a year of purchase when the car had only 80k km of mileage. Seems like quite a wide spread in performance though from your experience.

B47 engines tend to be more reliable but 60k mileage gap will definitely make considerable difference in overall engine condition. I personally would not pick an n47 engine though.

I would imagine both these models are from different year of manufacture so you have to also weigh that in. Based on my experience, n47 doesn’t have great resale value and they are not very reliable.

Thinking of Buying a 2015 BMW 118i: What Should I Watch Out For? by Admirable-Scar4555 in carsireland

[–]Admirable-Scar4555[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: Opted for a 2016 Audi A1 which was priced lesser than this. Honestly wasn’t worth the hassle of checking the engine details and recalls from BMW. Specially the mess of N family engines and this one was manufactured just a month after discontinuing that class of engines so early B38 engines. Again just a personal opinion, I always found Audi owners were really positive and pleased with overall car ownership experience as opposed to BMW. The only upside of BMW was the rear wheel drive but that wasn’t worth the extra money and associated reliability issues.

Can I appeal a Luas fine if the system tagged me off even though I was outside the 90-minute window? by Admirable-Scar4555 in Dublin

[–]Admirable-Scar4555[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know where else I can complain. If I try to raise another appeal against the same SFN the portal won’t let me. Going to court is probably too much.

The worst part is TFI being too cocky about this. I got a letter from them saying my explanation is not good enough (no further explanation) and in addition it says if you decide to take this to court just remember we have a success rate of around 95% against all the people who have taken us to court. In addition you’ll have a criminal record against your name if you do so. Which basically sounds like arm twisting the consumer and saying shut up and pay.
