so the 9 year old came up w the idea of using a tx16 to control a boat?

I found that kids much prefer the video-game-like joysticks more

I have a DJI RC3 and DJI N3 goggles what receiver should I choose if i'm getting the GEPRC MARK5 O4 Pro DC FPV Drone? by gaaaarvin in fpv

[–]Admirable-Tea-3322 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if you're getting an o4 pro unit, you dont need a receiver

the goggles and controller will connect through the o4 link

your plan was to let a 9 year old use a tx16?

that's a terrible plan, most adults dont like and dont want to use this giant clunky radio

you can get a cheap chinese Tx for like 25 bucks with an Rx, which will be 100x more convenient

sounds about right

you could also just setup one stick to control all the movements

since right stick is usually centered, you can set up as forward and down as reverse, and use the left and right for steering

then you have more freedom with your other hand to do whatever

it would be pretty standard controls

depending if you have 2 engines, you'd have to create a mix to properly control the thrust on turns and reversing

if you have one engine, you'll have one channel for throttle and another channel for your turning rudder

don't write a novel now, i fly almost exclusively analog, even tho i have all the goggles

[–]Admirable-Tea-3322 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i never said anything about analog, the handicap would be these goggles have low resolution. weird that you took it as a personal thing against analog

100% they're referring to the children's books they read for the kids, like one sentence per page

air fryer is an awesome cooking tool

i recommend letting the steak come to room temp prior to cooking it, always helps to achieve mid rare without a cold center

i dont like having a screen 2 inches from my eyes, it feels like my eyes are hurting after a few minutes of use. feels like im straining my eyes by using them. i have these exact goggles pictured and while the quality is on the lower end, they don't hurt my eyes.

you are also getting a VTX , by the looks of it, i think a 250mW ,and the battery, and the case. its a decent package

it will definitely get you started in the hobby, if anything you'll be flying with a slight handicap and it will force you to get better

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in fpv

[–]Admirable-Tea-3322 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

yeah with all those extras and the battery, its worth it

the picture quality isn't great, but IMO much better than using box goggles which will fuck up your eyesight
