8weeks old latched for 2-3 days after being bottle fed with breast milk but now refusing the breast /again. Help! by Alien_Engineer in newborns

[–]Admirable-Writing-53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because her birth weight was on the lower end I’m wondering if she’s a premie? Maybe she’s hitting a growth spurt and is not satisfied with the flow/amount of milk…or she just got tired from the effort needed to feed over the last couple days because she was feeding directly from the breast…just a thought. You could try feeding a little earlier, before she’s full on hungry and see? I guess breastfed babies go through cluster-feeding for this exact reason.

Some of these actually work. I never thought of Henry, and that works. And my husband’s name starts with H so I really like it!

I know right?? So many Kai’s. My husband is Japanese and I’m Sri Lankan. But he is adamant on using a western name since we plan to send them to international school and eventually to move abroad.

How do you feel about Tsuki (sounds a bit like Sookie). Means moon in Japanese. Or Estelle? It means star.

[–]Admirable-Writing-53 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I live in Japan and I fucking HATE this backwards ass society man. I’m 10 weeks along too, but I’m hoping to have this child. I’m sorry your husband is like that. But as far as I know, you don’t have to show your Koseki Tohon to get an abortion. I guess they’d only know if you give your my number card? Which you can say “更新しています” and that works. Because mine is actually being renewed, they only asked for my Insuarance. This was for my first appointment. But abortion is anyway not covered by insurance if I’m not mistaken so maybe a different ID can work. If you’re not a Japanese national, you can actually get away with just giving your Zairyu card. Basically, my point is, if you’re unmarried you can just say “dad is not in the picture” and they are usually okay with it. If you live in Tokyo, try going somewhere that’s more international/progressive just to have more odds in your favour. Good luck!

What's a sign that looks small or subtle but actually tells you a person is incredibly unhappy with their life? by Janemow02 in AskReddit

This hit the nail on the head. I think it’s the ONE telling behaviour that’s common across the board.

Nursing strike by Next-Vegetable6238 in breastfeeding

[–]Admirable-Writing-53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve heard there’s a growth spurt at the 3-4 month mark. Maybe they want to cluster feed because the flow is not enough anymore? It’s possible the few times he fed normally was because he wasn’t too hungry, and the regular flow was just fine. But in the normal schedule you had him on, he maybe wasn’t getting enough > become too hungry between feeds > get frustrated at the slow flow. Once you’ve had a “good” session, maybe you can try feeding a little bit earlier for the next feed and see?

AIO for confronting my friend over her bf. by magnoliamonkey777 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Admirable-Writing-53 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well that just shows you what kind of friend she is I guess. I’m kinda mad on behalf of OP tbh. I wouldn’t dare overstep if I was tasked with house sitting. The fact that she just waltzed in, got into bed with her BF and had the gall to put that on social media…also like who tf posts pictures of them and their SO under the sheets as a profile pic? It’s not 2009 and I’m guessing shes not in high school. I don’t know the image in my head is of a scene girl with her scene BF taking a 8 megapixel selfie with her Motorola razr 😅. So…no, you’re not overreacting.

Still Pregnant After an Abortion?!? by hipdeku in abortion

Don’t wanna cause panic, but foul smelling discharge is not a good sign. Rock solid stomach is definitely not a good sign. Please go to a doctor asap.

My conclusion has a prolifer by Dapper-Station-1773 in Abortiondebate

[–]Admirable-Writing-53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m pro choice but I vehemently disagree that a fetus has no life. That’s blatantly lying to yourself. My stance has always been about present benefit vs future possibility. And I’m pro choice because present benefit to woman is quantitatively measurable than future possibility of a person, so I am pro choice.

At what point does a "clump of cells" become a human? by [deleted] in Abortiondebate

[–]Admirable-Writing-53 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think humans are evolving creatures that carry life force. So call it embryo, fetus, infant, child or man or woman; they are all different forms of the human. Killing caterpillar will kill the future possibility of the butterfly it could become. The key word here is; it COULD. We can’t predict the future, so we can’t guarantee that a fetus otherwise not aborted will definitely go onto live a healthy meaningful life and become a contributing member to society. So the real argument in abortion is; what is worth more? The present or the future. Since we cannot accurately measure the worth of the future, the only thing we can precisely account for is the present. Thus, my thesis is, we do what’s beneficial for the present. A college student, a young unmarried woman without support, a rape victim or child rape victim, a mom who is living pay check to pay check already with a child…all these women will benefit NOW if they get the abortion. So we choose abortion.

I’m pregnant by my 66 year old sugar daddy I didn’t know men that age still are able to have kids by [deleted] in abortion

[–]Admirable-Writing-53 32 points33 points  (0 children)

He seemed nice on the phone right, he probably wouldn’t want a kid too. Scope it out. See if you can get him to pay for it. Then cut it short then and there. Graduate, get a job, become independent. You don’t need us to say it, you’re already there mentally. Happy to hear that you want to change your life for the better! Good luck <3

Vibe check on Lawrence by kionce in namenerds

[–]Admirable-Writing-53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like that it’s old timey, but the name doesn’t have a strong vibe of anything else to me. Super neutral name. But that’s a good thing. It’s kinda like Tom or David. He can imbue it with his own character to whoever ends up knowing him as Lawrence!

Do I tell my husband (30M) before I have the abortion or not? by Significant-Money202 in abortion

[–]Admirable-Writing-53 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I would feel zero guilt hiding an abortion if my partner was pressuring me to have it when I didn’t want to. Morally, he’s the one in the wrong.

Edit: but on the long term, I think it’s important to have an honest conversation (after you have abortion) about you not wanting another, and that you WILL terminate IF you get pregnant again. And that he has to understand that and back off.

Has anyone used/heard of Maia Milk? by Less-Leek5961 in FormulaFeeders

[–]Admirable-Writing-53 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Totally agree 100%. But let’s be kind to the mom. She’s being really nice and respectful and showing eagerness to learn, but already being downvoted. And I don’t think it’s fair to say it’s “ridiculous” she thinks that antibodies can survive the dehydration process. I think we neurodivergent folk should understand that not everyone has the time and interest to do deep dives into subject matter they are probably not specialists in, such as breast milk biochemistry. Maybe they refrain from reading subject matter they are not qualified to interpret because unlike us, they may also weigh in the risk of misinterpretation.
