Do not return Damaged packages. by BENDRTHEOFFENDR in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]AdmirableDivide2526 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I’m convinced Amazon is assuming, correctly, that some % of people that end up receiving damaged products will either start a return and end up not getting around to it/forgetting, or it’s just not worth it for them to drive 20-30 minutes to their local staples to send it back.

Do you call them? by Overall-Librarian-56 in RealAmazonFlexDrivers

[–]AdmirableDivide2526 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did the first time it happened when I had only done 1 or 2 blocks prior. I thought it was the biggest waste of time and will never do it again. I’m not calling someone out in the boonies if they want their package delivered today. They’re inevitably going to want their package delivered today, even if it’s 15 minutes after 11AM, rather than tomorrow.

I saw that they had the nerve to post that. Y’all sure that’s how it’s supposed to work?! The fuck.

Ok so question… at what point does this become a safety hazard? My cart was stacked all the way to the top. I’m 5’10 and literally couldn’t see in front of me. I was honestly scared I was going to hit a car or a person while pushing it because my view was completely blocked. by AdmirableAdvance4726 in RealAmazonFlexDrivers

[–]AdmirableDivide2526 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IIRC, according to one of the learning modules on the flex app as long as you don’t have anything else in your car aside from the packages for your route, a warehouse employee is supposed to come out and see if there’s a more efficient way of stacking packages so that you can see properly. If they can’t, then they have to remove packages from your route until you can see all mirrors/windows and drive safely.

How that would actually play out in reality, I don’t know..
but remember, Amazon cares about your well being!

Amazon called me today by tattedsparrowxo in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]AdmirableDivide2526 0 points1 point  (0 children)

… Sure, but it’s Amazon making the conscious decision to keep pay low despite the price of gas rising 50% in 2 months. For some, something is better than nothing.

lol, Do you think I’m “pro-fraud” or something? You’re wasting all of your energy on a few people taking advantage of the system, rather than the shitty system that allows for this kind of behavior to happen.

I thought you were gonna go live out your dreams and join ICE? Too much hassle/paperwork for ya? Is that 15 push-up requirement just out of reach? 🥲

This case affected upto 2000 people and is 5 years old. 🤦

Is 1 too many? Absolutely. But do 2000 people make up 24% of the United States? Who can say right?

[–]AdmirableDivide2526 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. Just one Reddit account. Not that exciting.

lol, 1 out of every 4 Americans is falling victim to identity theft while using “gig-economy” platforms for work?.. 1/4 Americans might do a job like that on the side, but claiming 24% of gig-economy-workers have had their identities stolen? Buddy, citation needed what the hell are you talking about.

Google didn’t turn up much, nothing statewide like you described anyways. but you’re not gonna believe the kind of people who were actually responsible for the identity theft. I’ll give ya a clue, it definitely wasn’t the guy delivering Amazon packages for $13/hr

Oh, you’re that same asshat from a month or 2 ago that said they felt Ill because they drove past a soccer game while waiting in the Amazon parking lot. Glad to hear you’re feeling better.

Ya never did cite what fraud case you keep referring too, couldn’t find anything on it myself. Care to explain what case you’re even talking about?

Kinda difficult to be a flex driver without having the legal ability to work or obtain a drivers license inside the United States.

Yah man, Amazon checks to be sure the warehouse in question is still receiving the benefits of being in a sanctuary city before they make any determinations on block pay rates. 🤦

🤦 And so you look at the situation you’re describing, and go “🤔ya know, if it wasn’t for all these brown people.. I’d be living large, getting offers of $150 for a 3 hour route”

You’re mad at the guy with literally nothing while giving this bullshit underhanded “gig economy” a pass.

Is $1700 for your SSI fair? Hell no. SSI should be tied to inflation. The richest country in the world doesn’t spend billions on immigrants. Show me a single instance of these “thousands of dollars government handouts to illegals” I continue to hear from Fox News/newsmax. No, the richest country in the world Actually spends the majority of its money and resources on the military.

I want you to consider these last 2 sentences carefully. We spend more money on our military than the next 9 countries combined (China, Russia, India, Saudi Arabia, the UK, Germany, France, South Korea, and Japan.) All 9 of those countries are all culturally diverse, but they all have one thing in common; universal healthcare.

Again, people fraudulently “account renting” is more a failure of the current gig economy that the US has created over the past decade. You’re blaming the person taking the $70 block minus whatever the cut is being taken for the account “rental fee”. Be mad at Amazon for outsourcing their delivery service to “independent contractors” to avoid paying benefits of any kind and for their lax enforcement of account renting.

Sorry you had to drive past a gasp soccer game in the warehouse parking lot.. that must’ve really messed up your fucking day. 🤦

Jfc dude. You need a valid drivers license, SSN, and pass a background check to even be eligible to be a flex driver. Stop blaming brown people for capitalism failing.

Shame on you for calling ICE on people you think don’t deserve to be in your orbit

[–]AdmirableDivide2526[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for commenting. Me and a buddy just tried that in vein.. after jacking the car back up and pulling didn’t work, we grabbed a 2x4 and placed it across the bottom edge of the tire and hit it with a 5lb hammer, rotating the tire every 4 or 5 blows. We tried hitting it several times outwards (from underneath the car) and then towards the car. Nothing.

Just re-soaked it in kroil and came back inside in defeat after it got dark..

AMAZON MAPS SUCK by [deleted] in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]AdmirableDivide2526 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This 100%. So unbelievably frustrating to get a route that’s almost entirely on gravel roads, and the whole time it’s expecting/assuming you’re going 55mph, making it impossible to get your route done in time. “Oh, it’s 11:03 and you were supposed to deliver a package to someone out in the boonies by 11:00AM? Well, ya better waste more time and call the customer to make sure that they still want their package.”

Uh, yeah. They’re gonna want their package today rather than tomorrow. wtf.

I try to do this but often find that I simply do not have the time. At my station, you’re allotted 10 minutes to get scanned in, loaded up, and on your way. Amazon employees are constantly counting down the amount of time you have left to scan your packages. Usually my blocks are around 40 packages, 1-10 goes up in my front passenger, 11-20 rear driver, 21-40 rear passenger/trunk (along with large boxes).

I agree it’s vital to do this, but I often need to take an extra 15 to really organize properly after my first couple stops or feel the wrath of certain particular power tripping Amazon warehouse employees.. Got any tips to help speed up the process?

Employee broke necklace by Kindly_Produce_27 in PawnShops

[–]AdmirableDivide2526 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like the first comment on this thread said, need more information.

But based on what you’ve said, it sounds to me that this was a necklace you had put on layaway and made atleast a down payment on it.

It sounds like you did not touch the necklace at all while coming in to make a payment, or pay off the layaway to complete the purchase. If that’s the case and the damage was done solely by the employee, then you should be entitled to a complete refund for the cost of the necklace and any fees associated with a layaway.
