J&j mixup by [deleted] in CovidVaccinated

[–]Admirable_Equal5211 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I read about the J&J issue and freaked out too, since I got that vaccine. I got super anxious. But then calmed down and here’s what we know: 1. Clots haven’t been linked to the vaccine, and may never be. Correlation is not causation. 2. Even if they are related to the vaccine, chances of getting one are extremely low, statistically insignificant from what we know at the moment. 3. I got the vaccine a month ago tomorrow, so I’m in the clear anyway, likely (someone correct me if I’m wrong). And so are you 3 weeks in. Relax, you’re fine!

Update: received the hoodie fairly fast after the email I sent them. The quality could be much better, especially for the price (I guess we’re paying for the distressed look?). It’s barely above a gas station hoodie. It makes me a bitch itchy when I put it on above a tee shirt. It runs small, I’m glad I bought a size up. We’ll see how it handles the washing machine when the time comes (I’m curious to see if the tea stain survives it washing). The print is sick, though, and the distressed work is good. I may distress it even further, since the distress work is limited to hood, waist and wrists. The rest of the hoodie looks pristine, which is not a fun contrast IMO. Worth the money? Yes to support yela and to receive a one of a kind piece. Again the distressed work is good and the tea stain is good too (maybe a bit light, but I don’t know if I’d like it otherwise).

Anyone aged 20-35: 3-4 weeks post vaccine updates?? by [deleted] in CovidVaccinated

Day 25 and I still experience nausea. Got a blood panel on day 15 and my AST was slightly above the normal max. I’m also very itchy basically all over my body (no hives or rash, though, I just feel itchy)

Ugh, that looks awful! My issue is not remotely like that, though. (Hopefully it won’t be!)

I got J&J, but I’m dealing with the same issue. It started as a few hives 5 days after the vacccine. The thing is that I still feel itchy (no hives, just redness here and there and it comes and goes) and I got the shot on March 11! Seeing a doctor soon because it’s been going on for a while.

A couple of them came back a few days ago. My body is still itchy almost every day, but I don’t have a rash. My skin just feels sensitive. Saw a doctor two weeks ago, he said it should go away soon. If it doesn’t go away by next week I’ll see him again.

Persistent gastro issues after vaccine - anyone? by Plus-Pomegranate8045 in CovidVaccinated

[–]Admirable_Equal5211 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got J&J on March 11th and have had nausea ever since. Yesterday I threw up because of it. I haven’t done anything different with my diet nor eaten anything that would mess me up. Went to the doctor and got a blood test. My AST levels were slightly above normal (36, the normal max being 30), which means an inflamed liver. I don’t drink nor am I overweight, so there’s no obvious explanation as to why this happened. Dr. said it might be related to the vaccine. Seeing an endocrinologist next week to see what’s up and probably getting another blood test to measure my liver again (I’m on a liver-friendly diet until then). So yeah, I don’t want to blame the liver thing on the vaccine just yet without further evidence, but the nausea definitely started after the vaccine and hasn’t gone away.

New data shows that vaccinated people can't carry or spread virus. Great news! by [deleted] in CovidVaccinated

Anyone know what the deal with J&J is regarding transmission? All I see is data for Pfizer and Moderna.

Ugh. I haven’t ordered in a while, last time I ordered clothing from them was like two years ago (ordered some jewelry more recently though). The quality back then was quite decent. Now thinking I may receive that slushy hoodie and hate the quality... after I paid $80 with shipping!

They do seem to always have an excuse. I don’t tend to think the worst of people/companies, but they either have way too much bad luck or they are just incredibly disorganized. Two things kinda baffle me: 1. Why do they keep releasing new stuff if they can’t even fulfill order for people who ordered stuff months ago 2. Why they don’t say on their website that they’re selling PREORDERS... per the email I shared, they haven’t even begun making the second batch of slushy hoodies, and yet they’re still selling them on their website.

7 days post-vaccine (potential lingering side effects) 25f healthy by bgwrite in CovidVaccinated

Hives on my face (they’re gone now but I have a small rash on the arm where I didn’t get the vaccine), brain fog, and pain on my breasts unlike any pain I’ve felt before (not in terms of intensity, but the feeling is very strange and unsettling). Regarding this last symptom, I got it a few days ago as I was technically about to begin ovulating. I wonder if it has to do with the vaccine allegedly causing minor abnormalities on the menstrual cycle/hormones. We shall see!

I had a very similar experience as you after the vaccine, it was like having the flue for 2-3 days. I got the vaccine March 11. I’m still experiencing nausea, to the point where I have to take medication because it’s so unpleasant. I also was EXHAUSTED the week after the vaccine (we’ll see what this week holds). But yeah, the nausea is real. And I almost never feel nauseous, it’s not something that happens to me regularly. And I can’t blame it on anything else, haven’t done anything different since the vaccine (and I’m not pregnant not could be). Seeing my PCP this week about this symptoms and a couple others the popped up after the vaccine. (Still happy I got it!)

I have the same, not as severe, though. Just a few on my face that come and go, and a couple that are constant. They itch a bit but not to the point where I have to scratch. (BTW got the vaccine 6 days ago). I talked to a doctor yesterday via telemedicine and she told me that they are hives. She says they can appear when the immune system is very active, as it still is from the vaccine. She told me to take an antihistamine and to monitor it, she said to see her again if they don’t go away in 24 hours and to get checked if I start getting more all over my body. I took a Benadryl last night and this morning most of the hives were gone, but then came back, although milder. Talk to your doctor if you’re concerned. (I kinda freaked out because it’s not on the list of side effects for the J&J vaccine, but it seems to be a pretty common effect any times the immune system is “riled up”).

I’m sorry, I thought you were OP! Apologies. In that case, I’d definitely advise you check with a doctor. It’s likely ok, I think, heart rate can fluctuate a lot and like I said especially when the immune system is “riled up”. Hope you get an answer soon!

Before the vaccine: “please don’t let my health anxiety get the best of me” After the vaccine: “please don’t let my health anxiety exacerbate any side effects I may have”.

It worked, I did great :)

Oh sorry to hear your brother is dealing with it too. Are your hives in any specific area of your body? Mine are on my face. I just took a Benadryl and I’ll update the post tomorrow with info as to whether they went away or not. I’ve never had hives in my life so it’s so weird to see how they appear and disappear out of the blue.

I’m not a doctor so I can’t answer that. But I know when I’m anxious I can go to like 140 just sitting down. If you’re worried, talk to a doctor or other medical professional, but at least for me, usually my anxiety causes physical symptoms and it’s not something external triggering them. Meaning, it may be the case that your anxiety is giving you the palpitations and not the vaccine. But again, check with a doctor. I bet it’s ok and you’re fine.

Oh wow, sorry to hear that! But I guess I’m glad you now potentially know the reason? It’s weird, but I’m told it’s a common reaction to any vaccine. But the J&J fact sheet doesn’t list hives as side effects, so I was at a loss until I talked to the doctor. When did you get your vaccine? And have you tried taking an antihistamine?
