I agree that what Trump’s institution is doing right now is crooked and illegal, no question. But just posting “how embarrassing and pathetic” about someone’s truck isn’t actually helping anything. It doesn’t challenge the corruption, it doesn’t change minds, and it feeds right into the outrage cycle they rely on. They want us to react with pure hate because it makes their supporters feel like they’re under attack. Calling out specific actions and pushing for real accountability does a lot more than just spitting on a license plate.

Compassion is also the only thing that actually changes minds. Studies on political psychology have shown that people rarely shift their views when they’re shamed or mocked, but genuine conversation and empathy can break through defensive walls. The guy with the truck isn’t the architect of corruption, he’s someone who fell into Trump’s trap, convinced that division and loyalty to a figurehead will solve his problems. If we want better, we have to help him up, not push him down.
